Chapter 9

March 22

I made it safely to the hospital and jumped in the elevator that will take me to Tessa's floor. They were few people with me but I ignore them and looked at the number slowly counting up. I drummed my fingers against my thigh waiting for it to say floor 5.

Floor 3

I groan quietly. The people got off. I was now alone in the elevator.

Floor 4.....Floor 5.

"Thank god." I said to myself and got off. I quickly made my way to her room. I walked in her room and saw I was the first one here to visit during visiting hours. I sat down in chair next her side and took her hand in mine.

"Hey, Tess. There is a lot of things that have happen to me. I want to tell you but I don't know if you can hear me."

I paused to look at her face, looking for any movements. None.

"Your parents really miss you. They aren't taking it too well. There are losing hope faster than I am. I know you will wake up sooner or later that's what I told them when they were about to give up."

Another pause.

"Colton misses you lot. He is always complaining about wanting to play with you. I have to always tell him you are taking a really long nap and will wake up soon."

Tears ran down my face. I wipe them away.

"I miss you so much. I don't hate you after what happen between us. I've had time to think things over. I want to take our friendship further. I love you more than a best friend, Tess." 

I held her hand tighter and laid my head down, crying more. It is too painful to watch her lay there like she wasn't there but she was. Somewhere in her mind. She is still there.

Moments passed by when I felt her hand squeeze mine softly. I straighten up and watched her face. Slowly I waited until I saw her eyes open and she looked around. She was confused on where she was.  

"Tessa it's me Ava. You are in a hospital." I reached over to press the call button to let the nurse know she is awake. 

Few minutes later, nurses and her doctor came rushing in. They told me to step outside. I did and waited patiently for them to do all their check ups and tests on her. I flopped down in a chair and pulled out my cell phone. I dialed her home number.

"Hello?" It was her mother that answered. 

"Mrs. Montgomery she's awake!" I couldn't help it but shout out happily into the speaker. 

"She's awake?"

"Yes ma'am she is."

"Jake, Tessa is awake up! Get the car started!" I hear her yell at her husband. 

"Ava, we will be on our way shortly. I can't believe she is awake!" She hung up and I put my phone away. 

I couldn't keep the huge smile on my face. My best friend and the love of my life is out of her coma after almost three weeks. Thank god it wasn't months that would have killed me waiting that long. 

"Miss Fae. She is asking for you." 

I look up to see her doctor standing in front of me. I got up and walked passed him. He left and the nurse left too to let us have privacy. I sat on the bed right by her side, I didn't hesitant to grab her hand in both of my hands and held them too scared that I will lose her again. 

"Tessa." I said her name like it should be said only by me. 

"Ava. What happen? I only remember the kiss and then everything is black." She told me with tears in her eyes. I cup her cheek and lean in closer to her. 

"How much do you remember the kiss?"

"I remember you pushed me off and told me it was wrong and got out of the car. That's it. Do you hate me?" Tears flowed down her face. I wipe them away with my thumb.

"No. I don't hate you. I love you." I lean in closer and captured her lips with my own. It was a kiss that was full of passion, love and warmth. I wanted her to know I love her too. She gasped and let me kiss her. Our tongues met and danced together in sweetness. I ran my hands down her clothed body and gripped her hips. I moved to straddle her and continue kissing her. Her hands went around my neck and deepen the kiss. She grabbed my tongue and sucked on it. I moan from the sweet pleasure and tighten my hold on her. We were panting and moaning from the intense kiss. We broke apart to catch our breaths.

"You really love me?"

"Yes, silly." I got off of her and sat down next to her. I told her everything that happen. By the time I finished my story, her parents came barging in the room. She didn't get to comment on it. I left and went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. I was really hungry all of a sudden. 

I got me a much of fruit, cheese and yogurt. That was what I was craving for. I ate like a pig at a table and when I was done I got me a bottle of water. I went back to Tessa. Her parents were fussing over her like they should be, and it looked like she was uncomfortable about it. I knocked at the door. Her parents looked up and smiled at me.

"Thank you for telling us she woke up finally." Mr. Montgomery told me. 

"Your welcome sir. I guess I'll be going then. I'll come visit you again Tess." I left without another word. She needed to be with her parents right now. Me and her can get our lives back to normal tomorrow. 

I jumped in my car and headed to my house. I got there around 5 pm and my parents were cooking dinner and Colton was playing pirates in the house. I join in with him and never felt so happy right now. I didn't have to worry about Tessa anymore. I wasn't too worry about Scott and Ethan's trial. Tony, Matt and Amanda got their trial already. They were going to be in prison for a year with parole. 

Wasn't much of a punishment but it was better than nothing. 

But Scott and Ethan would most likely be in prison for a long time if everything goes right in the trial. 

That reminds me whenever Tessa would wake up, the trial would be set to start two days later. 

Great, I got to face them again. I am going to have a few words for them if they get close to me.
