Chapter 27

Mathew wrapped his arm around Aria and held her close to his chest. "I love you always and forever princess," he said rubbing her head. "I love you too Dad" Aria said gripping his shirt tight.

Aria pulled away from him and looked at him with a smile. Mathew was in awe looking at Aria. He had never really looked at his daughter when she was growing up. He knew as soon as he did he would break down tears.

It was hard being a single father and having to pretend to hate your child, especially the child that's supposed to be your princess. The kid you're supposed to protect. "You've grown up to be a beautiful young lady," Mathew said and placed his hand on Aria's cheek.

"Thank you, dad," Aria said placing her hand on his. "You are just as beautiful as your mother," he said with tears in his almost. "Dad stop being emotional" Aria said laughing. "Your dad was always an emotional wreck and you know that Aria" Natalia said coming out and sitting next to her husband.

Mathew let go of Aria and looked back at his wife. "I was only an emotional wreck because you kept putting yourself in danger," Mathew said trying to defend himself. "Well what about the time you saw Max play football for the first time," she said clapping back.

"My son finally learned how to catch a ball don't judge me," he said laughing. Natalia and Mathew looked at each other for a moment before smiling. "God I've missed you," Mathew said grabbing Natalia's face gently and kissing her.

The two shared a loving kiss. It was a magical moment but it was interrupted by a cough. They pulled away and turned to look at Aria who had a very disgusted look on her face.

"I'm sorry sweetie, I haven't seen your mother in a while," Mathew said which made Aria stick her tongue out at him. "You can't stop true love Aria," Natalia said holding her husband's hand.

"Okay okay whatever but can you continue telling me, everything mom. About why you had to leave and why Max had to fake his death too" Aria said wanting to get back on track so she can enjoy her family later.

"Well, I didn't wanna leave your life forever so I faked my death to have him distracted," Natalia said looking at Aria. "When he thought I was dead I spent my time trying to figure out how to get under his skin. I knew if he found out I was alive he would kill you" She continued while squeezing her husband's hand.

"So I asked Max to investigate for me since he had the tools and I didn't. While he was investigating he uncovered something that he wasn't supposed to." Natalia said looking down at the ground.

"So Alexander came out to kill him.. he almost did but I shot him. To protect Max" She said as tears started to fall down her face. "He was my son but Max was also my son. I didn't wanna choose but I did" she continued.

"When you two went to the hospital I came, and Max agreed to fake his death. Your father told me the rage you were in and that you almost broke his nose" Natalia said smiling at him.

Mathew looked at the two with a pout. "She's a very strong young lady," he said looking at his wife. "She is," Natalia said to him. "That's everything but we still have to take down Luciano," Mathew said looking down.

"Can we just have today? Today to be a family again" Aria asked which caused both of them to look at her. "We were always a family even if I was gone but yes we can have today," Natalia said and pulled Aria to her chest and held her head. Mathew wrapped his arms around both of them and sighed.

Things were finally back to normal... for now

"Female pov
"Her or me?"
I asked knowing that it would be her. It's always been her.
"Her"
I looked at him, I knew it would be her but I still had a little bit of hope in my heart that maybe, just maybe it would finally be me. I turned and walked away tears streaming down my face. It's always gonna be her. The rain started pouring and I ran, I ran as fast as I could because, in the corner of my eye, I had sawed her. He was hugging her and rocking her in the rain n. As they shared a kiss I screamed and continued to run but then I bumped into a hard chest. "He did it again didn't he?" I looked up to see who it was and it was my best friend."Chris!" I hug him crying into his chest and he hugs me back. "It's gonna be okay, I promise". He was always there when I needed him.

~The next day~
I woke up in Chris's bed alone but with the smell of breakfast. I jumped and ran to the kitchen. That's when I saw Chris cooking. "Good morning gorgeous," he said with a smile. " The remote to the TV is on the couch and breakfast is almost ready." He said while mixing something in a bowl. "Okay ima going to watch tv" I ran to the leaving room without even hearing his response. I picked up the remote and turned on the news. What I saw on the tv made me drop the remote and scream. My ex and his girlfriend were dead.. but who could have done this. I hear Chris's footsteps come up behind me and wrap his arms around my waist and lean down to whisper in my ear "I took care of them for you, now it's just me and you." He said and licked my ear. All I could do was shake and tears streamed down my face. "You monster.." I said shaking. "I'm your monster princess," he said and kissed my cheek while walking away"
