Chapter 30

Luke looked at Aria and her family sitting together on the balcony enjoying each other's presence. It's been a while since he got to see Aria generally happy and as corny as it sounds it made him happy.

He understood the meaning of losing all of your family but he didn't get the pleasure thought of having your family reunite though. His mother at a very young age was killed.

She wasn't killed for no reason per se but she was killed to pay for my father's sins. Everyone thinks being in the Mafia is cool but being in the Mafia put a target on all of our backs.

I lost my mother, my sister, and my little brother when he was 6. His dad had stolen money and to pay for that the people he stole money from killed his brother. That's when Luke learned that you eventually pay for your sins, no matter how long ago it was.

He just hopes that his sins wouldn't be paid for with Aria's life. Growing up he watched her form into a beautiful young lady and fell more in love with her by the day. Her happiness is all that he desired and just wanted to tell her how he felt.

He was scared though. That this job will be Arias's downfall and his demise. "Luke?" He heard a voice say and he snapped out of his thoughts. He realized that Aria was calling him.

"Oh um yeah?" Luke said looking at her. "You said you wanted to talk to me earlier before you left for work," Aria said looking down at her thumbs. Luke looked over her head to see her parents looking at him.

They were nodding their heads at him smiling. He knew that meant that they had his permission. Out of all the things he has ever done in this world this may have been the scariest.

"Yea I forgot, let's take a walk," Luke said and Aria nodded. Luke lead the way and followed him eventually catching up to him so that she was walking on his side.

Growing up Luke never really found interest in anyone but Aria. Lucas did but something was different with Aria. He tried to fuck other girls to get her out of his mind but it never worked.

It was just her scent lingered in his head. Her smile was so beautiful it just was a picture he wanted to keep in his mind all day. Her eyes were honestly beautiful.

People may have found that brown was boring but Luke thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world. The way the sun reflected her eyes and it make them a little lighter so that you see this golden honey brown.

Let's not forget the way her hair flowed down her shoulders. When she got here she wanted to do something different to her hair so Stephen put these white highlights in it which matched her already beautiful brown hair.

Then you have her curves. She was snapped very nicely. She didn't have too much of a chest but it fit her hands perfectly. Her ass was amazing not only that but she had a tattoo on it which was a night to remember.

Her attitude was something else too. It was something that would make a guy stop being interested but it kept Luke entertained. It was one of the many reasons he was attracted to her.

She was never afraid to speak her mind, never afraid to slap someone if needed. Her attitude was a big part of her but her kindness was too. She would help anyone in need, she would fight for anyone, and she would love a dying dog if needed.

She had so much kindness in her heart and he hated the fake that she had so much hatred for the person that was supposedly gonna make them pay for their sins. He didn't know when they were gonna officially pay for their sins but he knew they were gonna have to stop Luciano before he killed them all.

Luke led her to the garden because he knew how much she enjoyed flowers. She loved flowers because of their meaning. Her favorite flower was a rose because of its thorns.

"Since the rose was so beautiful people would be attracted to it. That would make them wanna steal it and keep it for themselves. The thorns of the rose though protect that beautiful flower from people but yet this meaning could be for several things.

For example, it shows that even the most beautiful people can hurt you. We as humans always look at beauty because it's a gift and we appreciate gifts but we never see that those same gifts can hurt us.

Luke sat her down on one of the benches in front of the rose arch. Aria looked around kinda confused because she didn't understand what they were doing here. Luke looked at Aria with a smile.

"Aria you may not remember me as much from your childhood but I remember you. I remember everything about you." Luke said and grabbed her hand holding it in his.

"Luke I remember small images of you and Lucas. I just don't remember everything" Aria said trying to reassure him a little." I know but Aria I still remember my feelings for you. every day I got up ready to run to your house and see you," he said with a laugh.

Aria stayed silent and looked at him in awe. "We were kids but I still loved you. I hated the fake that Lucas took your virginity but I couldn't stand the fact that I would have hurt you." He said and looked at her.

"I understand Luke please don't bear yourself up," she said and placed her other hand on his cheek. "Aria I'm in love with you and I wanna be with you. I don't wanna lose more time from you trying to pretend like I don't feel like how I feel. We're adults" Luke said confessing while pouring his heart out which brought Aria to tears.

"Luke I love you too," Aria said which put a huge smile on Luke's face. He grabbed her face and rubbed her cheek for a minute. Only for a little before he kissed her. They kissed and shared this moment for a while.

"I liked to think of my mother as my hero, I like to think of my father as my protector, I liked to think of my uncles as my mother and father's protectors. I'd liked to think of them all as my protectors though"
