is this just another one of those stupid summer flings?
summer weather makes everything hot, hot enough to trick people into feeling in love. is it the heat or are the feelings real? Anna moves to chloe's hometown for the summer after their freshmen...
it's been a few days since Matt and I have hangout. we have had the occasional text just checking up on one another he always makes sure that I have a ride somewhere since I don't have a car in Mass. I appreciate the gesture but at the same time I don't want him to keep offering it because then I keep reading into it and that maybe he has another motive other than just giving me a ride.
I also keep thinking about that god damn group chat. was I an idiot for not telling them about my attraction to matt? should I have said something? am I now considered off limits? lord only knows how he actually feels and im sure the siblings have some secret code that tells them not to tell other people their secret business. I just feel defeated plus I know everyone always talks about a hot girl summer what about a cute romantic summer. I wanna go on cute beach picnics and kiss someone while we watch the sunset.
Chloe, Alahna, and I have hangout non stop though. Im so glad Chloe had a girlfriend I actually liked. We go out all the time together and even where were doing absolutely nothing its nice to just have one another physically there. Alahna and I have been doing some hanging out alone recently since Chris and Chloe have been spending so much time together lately.
"So chlo when do you think he's gonna pop the question?"
"hopefully not anytime soon I don't even know if I want to get married?" Chloe looked disgusted.
"Bruh no I mean ask you to be his girlfriend..."
"Oh yeah I don't really know I kinda have a feeling it will be soon though I mean things are different for us since him and I have been friends for so long before we started to try this out."
"I mean even if y'all weren't friends before hand they way you guys get on id be shocked if he waited much longer. Ok ill stop bugging you and go shower now." I said strolling out of Chloe's room. As I stood under the shower head I allowed water to flow freely over my body so I could think aka overthink and hurt my own feelings. I pondered more on Matt and how I might have made him feel even if what I said wasn't completely true. After getting out I decided some vitamin D might help this funk im in.

I hear a car horn honk no less than 5 minutes after Matt texted me and internally panicked. I got up and ran over to the other side of the white picket fence.
"WOah Anna." Matt said averting his eyes to anywhere other than my body. My face got hot as I realized I was in such a skimpy bathing suit.
"Stop its just a bathing suit go inside and let me change you weirdo." I ran and put some clothes on and met him and Chloe in the living room.
"CHLOBUG WHERE THE FUCK IS THE PEPSI IN UR HOUSE?" A voice screamed from the kitchen who I assumed was Chris.
"Only have coke in this house sorry."
"You guys disgust me." Chris said while Matt nodded in agreement.
"Anyways what's up?" I questioned Matt who was sat on the edge of the couch.
"Get your shoes on. Were going to go get ice cream." he said twirling his keys around. I walked over to the front door expecting Chloe and Chris to follow but instead they ran up to Chloe's room giggling about something dumb probably.
"Okay just us. Let's go." I said still slightly in my funk.
Matt once again opened my door and drove to the small little ice cream parlor. I got chocolate and he got bubblegum.
"I won't lie you have the taste palette of a 4 year old girl."
"Well you have the taste palette of a 90 year old man." Matt retorted. "Now are you gonna tell me what's wrong or are you just going to make fun of me?"
"Making fun of you seems more fun so.." I half smiled. "Ok no do you ever feel like you can't express how you feel or you can't quite put it in words and then it sends you into a spiral? Like you could say it in the weirdest way but you just don't know how the other person would take how you feeling?"
MATT'S POV:
Holy shit bro. No way. Is she hinting at something right now.
"I mean yeah I hide how I feel all the time and sometimes I get scared to tell people how I really feel?" I said to Anna hoping she would spit something out about her feelings.
"Thanks for understanding Matthew. You are such a good friend." She said looking so obviously uncomfortable. No shot she just friend zoned me.
ANNA'S POV:
I really hope he doesn't think that I just friend zoned him. I keep digging a bigger and bigger hole for myself with this kid.
"Yeah Anna I just want you to feel comfortable with me especially when it comes to telling me how you really feel."
"I will definitely open up more in time Matt." I said now with a full smile.
