I need to explain this before it comes up. I have something that I call the parallel, which is how I envision the mindspace working. Basically, (almost) everything besides people is completely black, and the 'terrain' changes to what you want it to be. For example, you could walk up a staircase, walk back down, and then walk through where it just was. It's really hard to explain, but I hope this helps.

Grian's pov

Grian was beginning to get more and more worried about the stone. It had been increasing faster after he had opened the Rift. It now covered almost all of his neck and torso, a little over a third of his face, up to his elbows, a bit on his hands, and just shy of his knees.

Grian was going to check on the Rift with Mumbo and Scar. They met in Scar's elf kingdom and took off. Normally, Grian would outpace the two, since he was an avian, but he was starting to have troubles keeping up. Stupid rock, he thought to himself as he landed, almost falling.

Mumbo looked over at him. "You good?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just been having a bit of trouble flying lately," Grian answered. "Does anyone have an idea as to why there are several gigantic rocks above the Rift?"

"Maybe that's why the Entity wanted to make the Rift. To get more rocks like it and increase its power. You can feel the magic radiating off of the place," Scar replied. He was right. The place was literally humming with magic.

They trio went down to see the Rift itself. It looked no different now then it had before. Grian shuddered.

He pulled down his mask, and smelled the cool air.

Mumbo's pov

Wow. Grian wasn't lying when he said that he was turning to stone, and that it was this bad. It's got, like, his whole right cheek. Realizing that he was staring, he looked back at the Rift.

"So the Entity tricked you into opening this to try and rescue me when I wasn't in trouble? And I thought I was a spoon," Mumbo said.

"You are a spoon," Grian announced, jokingly.

"And a vampire," Scar added, smirking.

"Shhh," Mumbo responded, putting a finger up to his smiling mouth, "no one's supposed to know." The three of them started giggling.

Grian decided to bring up an old joke between the two. He dug a small hole down, saying, "Hey, Mumbo. Guess what?"

"What?"

"You know when we were having so much trouble finding diamonds in last life?"

"Yeah."

"Well, that's because I've been keeping them here this whole time!"

Mumbo burst out laughing, "Funny thing, we've stored them nearby, 'cause my diamonds are right here!"

Scar looked somewhat confused, but decided to play along. "You're looking in the wrong place, because they're all over here!" The elf exclaimed, digging out a few blocks. This continued for a few minutes before Grian pointed out that they were way above diamond generation. They climbed out of their hole. The builder seemed to be having trouble getting up.

"Stupid petrification," Grian mummbled under his breath. Mumbo helped him up, and noticed that his hands were harder than usual, and he was heavier too. This is worse than I thought, if it's spread that far, he thought to himself.

"Anyways, we have some planning to do," Mumbo said, putting his thoughts aside.

"You mean pl-AHA-ning?" Grian corrected, grinning. Scar looked thoroughly confused, since he wasn't ever a member of the Southlands.

"Grian!" Mumbo mock-scolded. They both started giggling.

After the two stopped laughing, they exited the cave, and headed over to Grian's base. The trio sat down inside and started brainstorming ideas as to how to stop the Entity.

Scar's pov

"Well, to start with, we know that there is some kind of potion that we could use-" Scar started.

"But the Entity burned the recipe," finished Grian.

"Could we just ban the Entity?" Mumbo wondered.

Scar answered, "You can't ban spirits once they get in."

"Also, trying to ban the Entity might also get Grian kicked," Mumbo added.

"Could we use magic?" Scar suggested.

"Maybe," Mumbo replied, "What kind would we use? Admin is out of the question. Grian overused his magic, so we Watcher magic. End and Nether wouldn't do much..."

Grian had curled himself up into a lite ball in his chair. "What if there's no way to stop it?" he half whispered. An image flashed in his head of finding a statue-Grian in the tall grass, frozen in magic.

The three of them sat in an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes before Mumbo spoke up, promising, "We won't let that happen, Grian."

"We won't lose you. I swear to the Jellies."

After a little longer, they all headed off to bed, agreeing to meet the next day.

The next morning, Grian was gone.
