Amelia drops me off and I quickly walk up to the front door, after I knock I'm greeted my Nancy's mom, "Hey Julia, Nancy's just up the stairs in her room."  "Thank you Mrs. Wheeler." I say as she lets me in. I head up stairs and find Nancy doing her hair. I throw my bag onto the bed and start doing my makeup. "Hey Julia, what took you so long?" She asks, "Little sisters" I say with a huff.  She smiles and responds, "At least she's not as much of a handful as Mike," we laugh and I start to change into my Wonder Woman costume. "Hey I decided not to drive tonight, I ended up letting Amelia borrow the car." I explain. Nancy gives me an excited grin, "I knew you'd ride with us tonight, we're gonna have a great time."

The boys run into the house to let Mrs. Wheeler know they're ready to go trick or treating. Mike comes upstairs and barges in and Nancy throws a pillow at the door. "Mike, we're getting changed!" She shouts. "Oh sorry, um are you guys gonna go with us?" He asks awkwardly. Nancy shouts through the door, "No we're a little old for trick or treating, we're going out." We hear him run off and we finish getting changed for the party. "Is Steve meeting us here then?" I ask. "Yeah he should be here soon," She seems distracted. "Well we're gonna have a good time," I say to try and lighten her mood. "I guess," She says with a sigh. "How do I look?" I ask, giving my best super hero pose. Nancy looks over my costume with wide eyes, "you look great!" I let out a giggle, "Thanks!"

We hear Steve honk as we finish getting ready and start down the stairs.

When we get to the party, we see almost everyone from the junior and senior classes. Nancy and Steve head straight inside but a familiar figure catches my attention. I tell Nancy I'll catch up and head towards the cloud of smoke. "Hey, are you headed inside?" I ask loud enough to get Billy's attention. He looked deep in thought before my words snapped him back to reality. When he sees me he smiles, "Yeah I'll be right in. I was wondering when I might see you." Was he waiting for me? I feel my cheeks start to warm up at the thought. "So why are you out here in the cold?" He asks me then takes another puff. "I saw you so I thought I'd come say Hi. I also wanted to say thanks for returning my notes," I rambled.

I didn't actually know why I came over, but that seemed like a good excuse. He looked me over in my costume, "Well thank you for letting me borrow them," He pauses and gives me a sly smile, "you look good tonight by the way." He points to me, "I like your costume, it looks good on you." I'm suddenly really aware of my costume and I blush, "uh thanks, I wasn't sure I'd wear it but here I am," the words fall out of my mouth. Why am I feeling shy all of a sudden? Its just a costume. He gives a gentle laugh when he sees me blushing. I quickly blurt out a response, "um I like your costume?" I start off in a confused tone, "Um.. its a nice jacket." gesturing towards his outfit. I realize he's got nothing on under the leather jacket and see his bare chest. Does he work out? Yes. He definitely works out. I realize I'm starting to stare at his abs and I meet his eyes. He knows I was staring and now I can feel my face going red before I shout, "I'm gonna go in, my friends are probably looking for me!" and I turn away and march into the house. What am I doing?

When I meet Nancy and Steve I realize they didn't even notice I was gone, so at least I don't have to tell her how I made a complete fool of myself. We made the rounds and said hi to a few people, I pulled Nancy out to dance to a few songs before Steve politely asked "Ladies, may I cut in?" I smiled at Nancy and shouted above the music "I'm gonna get a drink,"  Steve smiled at Nancy and I added with a goofy grin, "you two have funnn" as I left them and made my way over to the punch bowl. "THIRTY-FOUR! THIRTY-FIVE! THIRTY-SIX!" I hear from outside, I follow the shouting to find Billy upside down and over the keg. When the count stops at fourty-two, he comes down.

I see that he's now covered in sweat and I can't help but stare at him as he and the others around him shout and applaud. He looks over to me and we lock eyes, he gives me a wink and I blush again. Do I find him attractive? I mean, he does look pretty good. Everyone heads inside chanting, "Billy! Billy! Billy!" I follow him in and I go to congratulate him on his new record, but I see he's looking to the other side of the house. I follow his gaze over to Steve and Nancy and he starts to walk over to them. His demeanor is different though, he almost seems mad. Why is he acting like that? And why is he going over there? I follow him and hear someone tell Steve that Billy is the new Keg-King and freeze when they stare eachother down. What is going on? As the tension rises I see Nancy break away from the both of them and I decide to follow her. I don't like what I'm seeing, and I don't think she does either.

When I meet Nancy in the kitchen I finally ask her, "What was that about?" She shrugs and starts to look around the kitchen. She looks into the punch bowl and asks, "Whats in this," before I can tell her I don't know the guy near us yells, "Pure fuel!" lets out a burp, and then keeps drinking. As I'm looking at him in shock and mild disgust, Steve finally joins us. I turn to him, "Hey what was that about with Billy?" I ask him, but before he can answer we see Nancy pouring herslef a cup and downing the whole thing. Steve tries to get her to slow down but she just looks at him and pointedly says, "we're being stupid teens. Isn't that what you want." Nacny goves off an almost agressive tone and is staring down Steve. I shoot him a confused look and turn to look back at her, surprised at the sudden change in attitude, as she refills her drink and chuggs it. I look at steve and we share a worried look. This is gonna be interesting.

As Nancy keeps drinking and Steve and I try to babysit her, Steve eventually turns and says, "Hey you go ahead, enjoy the party. I'll take care of her." I can tell he just doesn't want a scene so I leave him be. I notice Jonathan is here and talking to a girl, I smile. Good for Jonathan, Nancy was right, looks like he met someone. Suddenly everyone shouts and I look over to see Steve and Nancy, and a drink all over the front of her clothes. That can't be good. Before I can come over to help, they've already hurried into a bathroom.

I go over to Jonathan and catch him up on what he missed. "So she's pretty out of it then?" he asks, concern in his voice. "Yeah, but she'll be okay. Steve's taking care of-" The door slams and we see Steve come out. He heads straight for the door and leaves without saying anything. "umm..." I say, not really knowing what to do. "I think she's gonna need a ride home." Jonathan says and I agree with him, both of us still shocked at the scene we just witnessed. "I'll go get her, why don't you go start the car," I tell him and go into the bathroom.

When we finally get Nancy into the car, she's just quiet. Something definitely happened but she's in no mood to talk. "Hey Nancy should just get home and sleep it off. I'm just gonna head home." I tell Jonathan. He looks at me, "Alright, I'll take you." I look at Nancy, "No it's okay, I can find a ride, or walk. It's not that far. She should really get home." Jonathan looks at her and then at me and nods. I wave to him as he pulls off and takes our friend home. "I hope she's okay..." I mumble to myself as I watch Jonathan's car disappear around the corner. I look around realizing that with Steve gone and Jonathan making sure Nancy gets home safe, I'm offically stranded. I let out a huff and shake my head, I knew I should've driven.

I head back in to see if there's anyone sober enough to take me home, no luck. I sigh and walk to the kitchen to pour myself one last drink before the long walk home. "Your friends leave you here?" I jump and turn and see Billy. He's leaning on the counter and looking at me with the drink in my hand that I almost spilled. "Do you have to sneak up on me like that?" I ask and take a sip. He smiles and shakes his head, "You didn't answer my question, did your friends leave?" I take another sip and nod my head. "It's fine, Nancy really needed to get home so I'm just gonna walk." He looks at me in silence, I can see that he's thinking about something, but I can't tell what. He doesn't break eye contact while leaning closer to me and says in a low husky voice, "let me take you home."
