Part 24: Drama, on ice

I tried yakisoba for the first time today but I don't think I made it correctly so I'm going to try it again and probably tell you about it at the end of the chapter.

THURSDAY

6: 50 P.M.

Akihiro P.O.V.

As we trek down the hill I notice that the rink is clear of snow and there are two girls skating on the far end. 

As we near the bottom of the hill and sit on the edge of the ice to put on our skates. I look up and see that they seem to be having an argument but I can't tell from here. 

I go back to lacing up my skates just as Eiji says "I wish we could see what was happening over there" while staring at the girls across the rink.

"Hmm?" Kimi looks at Eiji before looking across the rink and her gear shaped irises seem to turn like they're zooming in on the scene, which makes sense because that's one of her quirks. "The blonde one seem like she's trying to get the brunette to leave with her and the brunette looks like she wants to stay" Kimi says staring at them

"Do you think the brunette needs help? Do you think the blonde is trying to kidnap her?" Himari asks looking concerned

"No. I think they know each other considering the brunette just tackled the blonde into a hug causing them both to crash into a snowbank" Kimi says shrugging "The blonde probably just wanted to go home but ended up caving"

"Alright if you say so" Mari says looking and sounding unconvinced

"Well that was anticlimactic" Eiji sighs 

"How do they look?" Hotaru asks

"Um the blonde looks bundled up and the brunette looks slightly underdressed considering there was a blizzard like four hours ago" Kimi says

"No I mean do they look attractive." Hotaru explains and I'm pretty sure everyone rolls their eyes

"You think I know what you find attrac-" Kimi starts, putting a hand on her hip and raising her eyebrows before getting cut off by Kana

"You don't have to answer that question, Kimi." Kana says glaring at her brother "We did not come out here for Hotaru to pick up a hook up. Besides I think they want to keep their shirts" She says turning around and flipping her hair over her shoulder dramatically

'She is so cool' 

Gradually everyone makes their way out onto the ice and start skating around laughing with and at each other as some people crash into one another and do tricks on their skates while I can't do more than a figure eight which Aki taught me when we were like five.

I never advanced past that point. I glance behind me looking for Fuji but I can't seem to find him. I look over my other shoulder to see if he's just out of view but as I turn I notice someone out of the corner of my eye and look straight ahead only to see Hotaru making his way over to the girl on the other end of the rink, neither seem to notice him approaching them. 

I sigh and turn away now searching for Kana so she can go round up her brother before he causes any trouble I spot her and skate over to her sliding to a stop next to her and see that she's talking to Fuji.

"Hey, Kana" I say breathlessly 

"What's up, Hiro?" Kana asks turning to me 

I gesture over my shoulder with my thumb "Hotaru's on his way to talk to those girls" I sigh

Kana makes a disgruntled sound and glares at him from across the rink before taking off with terrifying speed. I whip around and watch her shrink as she gets further and further away.
