"Wait a sec, how big?" Steve asked Dustin as I as we drove back to Dustin's house.
"First it was like that," Dustin used the distance between his pinky finger and his thumb to show Steve, "Now he's like this." Dustin held his hands about a foot and a half apart.
"I swear to god, man, it's just some little lizard, okay?" Steve brushed it off.
"It's not a lizard," I sharply told him.
"How do you know?" Steve questioned.
"Because his face opened up and he ate my cat," Dustin bluntly answered. Steve went to say something, but shut his mouth quickly and just nodded. We pulled up to Dustin's house and exited Steve's car. Steve popped the trunk, grabbed the nail bat and a flashlight, and then slammed it closed. We walked over to Dustin's storm cellar and Steve knocked on the doors with the bat. He listened for a moment.
"I don't hear shit," Steve stated.
"He's in there," I replied. Steve pivoted around and shined the flashlight in our eyes.
"Listen, kid, if this is some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead," He spat.
"It's not a prank," Dustin responded.
"Get that out of my face," I ordered, shoving Steve's arm away.
"You got a key for this thing?" Steve asked, nudging the lock with the bat. I shoved my hand in my pocket and grabbed the key that I had used to lock the cellar earlier that day, and handed it over to my brother. He aggressively opened the door and shined the light down into the dark abyss below.
"He must be further down," I noted, taking a step. Steve shoved his arm in my way, keeping me from going any further.
"You two wait up here in case he tries to escape," Steve instructed. Dustin eagerly nodded, he clearly did not want to go down there. Steve went down the steps far enough that we couldn't see him anymore. After a few minutes of waiting, I grew impatient.
"Steve?" I called, "Steve, what's goin' on down there?" Steve suddenly popped his head out from the abyss of Dustin's storm cellar.
"Get down here," He told us. I quickly ran down the steps and examined my surroundings. It was a dark and dingy cellar but nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I turned to the left. Steve held up what looked like some shed skin with his bat. Dustin made a disgusted noise as Steve dropped it on the ground, causing it to make a "squelch" noise.
"Oh shit," I muttered as I noticed something even more concerning. There was a massive tunnel that had been dug through the bricks that went on for god knows how long.
"We need a new plan," Dustin stated the obvious.
The next morning, Dustin, Steve, and I gathered all of the meat we could find within a fifteen-mile radius and placed it in buckets. We decided that we were going to lure Dart to the junkyard that we hid from the bad men in last year, knowing it had the perfect place to hide once the baby Demogorgons arrived. Steve parked his car on the edge of the railroad tracks and we gathered our supplies from his trunk. Right as we closed the trunk, I heard my walkie-talkie go off.
"Y/n!" Lucas shouted from the other side, "This is Lucas, do you copy? Y/n?" I picked up the walkie-talkie and sighed.
"Well, well, well, look who it is," I sassed.
"Sorry, dude, my sister turned it off."
"Well while you were dealing with your own shit, Dart grew again, he escaped, and I'm about ninety-nine percent sure he's a baby Demogorgon!"
