The group fell asleep, exhausted from their constant emotional distress, except for Willow. Unable to sleep she stays completely still, sharing the small couch with Robin. Steve insisting on sleeping on the floor while sneakily winking towards Robin.
Said girl had spent the start of the night trying to push herself so far away from Willow that she was practically falling off the couch. Robin wouldn't be able to sleep if she was touching Willow, yet the fear of her once again lifting into the sky was enough for her to constantly keep checking back until she too grew tired and drifted away.
Willow was restless, the images of Billy paired with Vecna's lair flashing through her mind whenever she closed her eyes. She chose to instead focus on her friends around her, noticing the way Lucas's hand reaches out towards Max in his sleep or how Steve scans the room whenever he wakes up checking on his kids before falling asleep once more.
All these small details making her truly appreciate the thick bond she has created over the past two years with these strange unlikely people, smiling to herself simply happy to be safe among friends.
Robin rolls over muttering under her breath when Willow all of a sudden feels the girls body press against her back along with her hand slinking around rest on her stomach completely trapping her.
Robin rolls over and shifts her head sleepily so that she is now resting against Willow's neck somehow not suffocating with the amount of Willow's hair. The girl burning up from the warmth emanating from Robin as she tries not to breath too heavily scared of waking her up.
They stay together like this pressed together for a while until the sound of Eddie voice breaks through Dustin's walkie, alarming Willow as she stand up to answer it being the only one awake. Struggling to get out of Robin's firm grasp.
"Eddie?" She speaks into the microphone anxiously.
"Hargrove! Hey, I'm going to need a new food delivery unless you want me going out into the world."
"No just stay there. We'll be there shortly." "Oh and can you get me a six-pack?" "Sure thing." Willow hangs up turning her attention to the groggy Robin squinting up at her in a haze causing Willow to immediately blush and crouch down to wake Max so that Robin can't see her red face.
Robin shrugs to herself cluelessly before kicking Steve awake on the floor who only grunts in response.
"Willow, shouldn't you be listening to your tape right now?" Steve groggily remarks towards her as she makes her way over to wake up Dustin.
"Just put it on me if I start flying again." Willow responds with her back still turned as she shakes the boy awake. "Come on Eddie needs us." Both the boys immediately perking up as Willow makes her way up to the reporter upstairs.
Finding her hunched over a pile of papers looking even more stressed than the one who had just escaped a near death scenario, Willow hesitantly approaches the concentrated girl.
"Hey Nancy, I saw the Creel's house in my hypnosis yesterday, I thought maybe we could check it out today?" Willow tells the intelligent girl hoping it would be able to help untangle the mystery rapping itself around her head.
"We have to go there then, maybe we can connect to him in the upside down from there. Come on get the others." Nancy rushes her but stops her before she can make her way back down.
"You were really brave yesterday and I know your trying to brush it off as if it was nothing but if you ever need to talk..." Nancy furrows her eyebrows, understanding how it feels to be a big sister and have to put on a brave face around those you care about.
"Thanks Nance" Willow uses her nickname to which she sadly smiles back at before turning back to descend down to the Wheeler's basement.
Making it to the Creel house the group makes their way towards the creepy house, Willow hesitating before taking a deep breath and joining them.
Breaking through the door with the aid of an aimed brick Robin glances back towards her worryingly. "Put your headphones back on Willow." Robin asks to which she grunts but fishes them out of her bag just to cure them of their stress.
Blondie blasting through her ears as they make their way into the building, Willow taking a torch and heading after the girls to give Max space with Lucas as she sees them slink off together, smiling to herself.
Stopping in front of a clock that she had seen in the lair she looks towards it curiously, momentarily taking off her headphones and placing her ear next to it, flinching away when she hears the exact same mellow ticking from her walking nightmares. "Do you guys hear that too?" Willow ask's curiously towards Robin and Nancy "It's broken Willow." They calmly state as they both look at her with concern.
"Oh..." Willow responds awkwardly sauntering off on her own once more placing her headphones on, stopping when she feels a hand grasp her shoulder looking up to see the anxious eyes of Robin looking down on her. "You're not going off on your own again." She drops her hand and walks in front of Willow who tries to distract herself fidgeting with her tape deck.
Nancy and Steve become entangled in an awkward flirting match as they stay behind leaving Robin and Willow to explore the attic together. Robin opening the door for Willow on the way in "I'm not going to break you know?"
"I know... I guess I'm just scared."
"Don't worry I don't think Vecna will jump out from behind the door."
"No, it's not that I guess yesterday just made me realise how scared I am of- of losing you."
"Robin don't worry I'm not going anywhere." Willow saunters into the middle of the small room, looking back towards Robin over her shoulder as she quickly joins her standing closely behind her.
The urge to grab Willow takes over Robin's body as she lifts her hands to place them on the back of Willow's hips and pull her into her chest yet her hands stop before they reach the girl when they're interrupted by Willow's torch flashing in her hand as she looks over her shoulder towards Robin nervously.
"He's here." Willow whispers as she turns around anxiously. Robin taking her hand and leading her out of the room to call the others bumping into Max who runs into the centre instead. Reaching out her hand for Willow the sisters clasp hands as they watch their torches flicker together.
"Vecna's here, just on the other side" Willow explains once the rest of the group join them in the circle, pointing their flashlights up as they collectively thrum with energy.
Willow's flashlight explodes first as glass shatters flying towards her as she ducks shielding max away from the burst as the others torches soon follow each popping with a loud bang until they are all covered in darkness.
