Chapter 20- The Piggyback part I

Willow looks towards Robin for the hundredth time as she watches the anxious girl tightly pulling on the straps of her 'uniform'. Hating the way her fingers lightly tremble, Willow can't help her need to calm her therefore she gets up from her spot next to Max to try and comfort her.

Falling down onto the RV's cushioned seat, Robin turns her attention towards the stunning girl instead. "I think if you pull that any tighter you might suffocate before we even get there." Willow chuckles attempting to lighten the dense mood.

This only causes Robin to furiously nod and instead focus on loosening the straps until Willow brings her hand up to stop her, gently laying her hand upon hers in a soothing matter. "Robin, I think its fine, you look totally badass." This finally causes a reaction, Robin slowly looks up from glancing at their entwined hands to smile at Willow, whose heart shatters at the sight.

If anything happens to any of them, she'd rather die then let it happen, even thinking about it causes a deep pain in her heart as she watches Robin's eyes sparkle. Nancy's voice breaks through their haze, as she starts to pace unsurely.

"Ok I wanna run through it one more time. Phase one." Nancy draws their attention back to the present.

"We meet Erica at the Playground, she'll signal Max and Lucas when we're ready." Willow responds glancing towards the pair awkwardly sitting next to each other.

"Phase two, Max baits Vecna. He'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance." Steve picks up. "Phase three." Nancy announces looking towards Dustin and Eddie for confirmation. "Me and Eddie draw the bats away." The older boy aggressively pats him on the head in reassurance.

"Then we head into Vecna's newly bat-free lair, and... flambé" Robin sloshes the flammable liquid in her collection of deadly cocktails.

"Nobody moves onto the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?" She looks each member in the eye.

"Got it." The group responds, getting up to assemble their belongings and make it out of the RV to sneak towards Eddies Trailer in the dark. Willow holds back, glancing back at Max, they make brief eye contact, Max offering a nod as not to make it too sentimental yet Willow springs back pulling her into a tight embrace.

"If anything happens Max I want you to live fully ok?" Willow mumbles into her red hair to which she receives a gentle nod that she feels next to her chest.

"Don't be the hero Willow... It's my turn." Max argues, reminding her not to be careless in the honour of bravery. "You've always been my hero Max." Willow states pulling back to look into her blue eyes.

The two half sisters offer each other a final smile before Willow makes the decision to turn her back and follow the other teenagers towards the gate. Steve breaks through the door turning the light on and quickly making his ascent into the side down. The boy flips down the rope and then turns to looks down at the girls looking a him form the other side.

Robin rolls her eyes at his display turning to look towards Willow to see her impressed face, immediately turning jealous and crossing her arms annoyed. "What does he want us to do, applaud?" She grumbles sarcastically to which Willow giggles and lightly claps her hands together as to not wake up the neighbours.

Nancy watches the two and laughs before going to jump up next, Willow looks towards Robin seeing her annoyed face and lightly smiles shrugging. Nancy makes it to Steve meaning Willow assumes position to climb up the dangling rope.

Robin gets down on her knee to let her climb easier, to which Willow gladly accepts. Making it up to the ceiling she pushes herself up further until she feels her hair start to rise alongside her body beginning to fall down onto the mattress.
