Robin emerges through the gate coughing and spluttering from her lack of oxygen, not thinking to take a deep breath before she recklessly jumped into the water after Willow.
Looking around at the murky atmosphere, she searches around for Willow, letting out a shocked gasp when she spots her in the distance being strangled by a bat like creature's tail being wrapped tightly around her neck as she clutches to get it off of her.
Spurring into action Robin runs towards them without hesitation grabbing the slimy beast throwing it onto the ground and stomping on it as an attempt to get it to release the girl gasping for air.
Steve soon also appears from behind her, oar in hand as he smashes the bat into pulp, releasing Willow from the constraint. Robin crouches down to her as she coughs trying to recover from the near strangulation, the others glancing at the red ring of dripping blood around her neck.
"Robin.." She rasps, her voice weak as they stare at each other, their faces irregularly illuminated by the red lightning.
Steve's cry of pain snaps the two back into focus as they both rise back to back. Nancy swats the bat biting his stomach to the floor as Steve steps on it ripping its tail from its screeching body.
More bats reach for the pair of girls, Willow grabbing the tail of one from above them and swinging it around before throwing it towards another. Robin glances over impressed only waking up when she feels a tail sling itself around her foot pulling her to the ground.
Willow manages to grab onto her hand as the bat begins to fly away lifting Robin's foot up into the air in the progress. Willow presses her whole body weight against the pull, bringing the bat down long enough for Steve to swat the creature away and let go of Robin who falls on top of her both panting with relief.
The onslaught of bats temporarily dulls leaving the group enough time to recover. "Are you okay?" Willow asks her face covered in splatters of black blood as she looks towards Robin who doesn't seem to want to get up from her. "Ask me tomorrow?"
Robin eventually gets up reaching her hand down and yanking Willow up into her embrace. Robin holds onto Willow's hip as she stands earning a gasp of pain from the wounded girl.
"Willow!" Robin brings back her hand to see it covered in blood as she glances towards Willow's bleeding open wound in a circular shape from the bat's bite. "I'm fine, we just need to get out of here, there's more of those bastards coming." Willow points behind them and pushes forward while Robin is distracted not wanting her to witness as she winces. "Come on!" She shouts gaining their attention once more.
They make their way into the densely packed woods running until safely hidden beneath the thick timber curtain from the screeching of the bats. They stay silent for the most time until Robin's voice breaks through.
"Wait Willow, what if you get rabies? It is like my number one fear... along with you dying." Robin whispers the last part but Willow still hears it and stops to wait for Robin to catch up to her.
"We should get you to a doctor like right now because once the symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already dead." Robin freaks out dramatically flaring her hands around to emphasise her point. Willow only looks back towards her dumbfounded but soon smiles once she sees how truly anxious Robin is, instead trying to lighten the mood.
"Sure, but could someone with rabies do this?" Willow bites her tongue to silence a grunt as she jumps clicking her feet together causing Robin to laugh at the stupidity of her action, Willow smiling at the sound as the walk further into the forest. "At least your sense of awful humour is still in tact thats a good sign." Robin says in between laughs.
