Aftermath [Steddie]

AWAKE

While no one has told Dustin Eddies alive Dustin presumed he was dead.
Dustin was out the hospital but still forced to stay home by his mother the only time he was aloud out was when everyone was back from either California or Russia but none of them knew Eddie except Mike except he didn't know him as well as Dusin because Eddie was like a father figure to Dustin but to Mike he was just another quick friend he wouldn't bother talking to after Eddie graduated so he didn't even bother bringing up his "passing".
Steve knew how much Dustin needed Eddie and how much he meant to Dustin he was like a father so was Steve but the thing was Dustin needed them both there.

Steve was laying his head next to Eddie both asleep. Steve just couldn't leave him there by himself over night and his parents weren't home.

The only thing I he cared about was Eddie at that moment he was doing this for Dustin or well that's what he convinced himself.

It was about 7:30 am when Steve had woken up to see Eddie still lying there still asleep hadn't moved an inch.
Steve went to the bathroom to change he came back in the room to re-bandage his wound Nancy had taught him how to do it after he told her and Robin he was staying over night, just from looking at the bites Steve cried not because he feels bad because he knows Eddie's in pain such terrible pain.
While Steve was finishing wrapping the bandage Eddie made a faint sound Steve jumped up saying "Eddie!" "Eddie!"
"St-Steve that you?" Eddie spoke lightly in a confused tone "yes it's me man" "it's Steve" Steve spoke trying not to be to loud
"Who new Steve, Steve the hair Harrington would be my savior" Eddie said jokingly but you could still hear the pain in his voice Steve knew he shouldn't be talking this much but couldn't help but love the sound of Eddie talking again after days of silence Eddie went to speak but Steve quickly told him to be quiet "Your hurt dude." "Just stay here and I'll get you some food you must be starving."
"What's got Stevie so worried about me?" Eddie said ignoring the fact Steve told him to be quiet just because he knows it annoys Steve to hell

Steve had ignored Eddie he knew if he said something he would just be egging him on
"GOD I hate Eddie" Steve thought to himself but really just lying to himself
He didn't hate Eddie he hated the fact he cares for that man so much the man lying in that bed.

He returned with a plate of eggs and pancakes with a cup of orange juice in his hand
He had walked in to Eddie finishing up the bandaging Steve had never finished.
Steve placed the glass and plate down on the bed side table. Then he walked over and sat down in front of Eddie on the bed helping him with the bandage. "You know you don't have to do this" Eddie said sighing looking down "seriously what are you talking about?" Steve replied genuinely confused "Why do you even care about the freak of Hawkins high you don't even know me!" Eddie said while his eyes in the bed sheet while gripping it seemed as if he was upset that someone rescued him as if he wanted to die there but that wasn't it he just wanted to be a hero but he thought since Steve had to rescue he was still just a freak and a fool "what are you even on about!?" Steve still confused what Eddie was talking about "why did you help me then?" Eddie said in a whisper while looking up into Steve's eyes his dark beautiful brown eyes

Steve couldn't get a word out he was to distracted staring into Eddie's eyes confused by his own feelings.

"Uh it- it's it's because-" Steve couldn't think of an answer for Eddie's question so he just spit out what ever he thought could save him "it's because i couldn't let you die there it's human decency for god sake!"

"No no it's not Steve half the people in this town would of left the second they could not looking back even for a second" and Eddie was right and Steve knew that he knew how terrible this town was even if Eddie wasn't a "freak" still most wouldn't helped out especially the way Steve Robin and Nancy did that's the upsetting part

"You know your not half bad king Steve" Eddie added
Something about the remark brought Steve much joy even though Robin said about the exact thing when they became friends maybe it's because it was coming from Eddie or maybe it's because Eddie sound so serious saying it where he's normally goofy off and messing around

Steve the realized they were both deeply staring into one another's brown eyes barely blinking.
