Aftermath [Steddie]

MATRESS

"I'm not sleeping on the floor my back is killing me man!" Steve complained
"Dont be a baby" Eddie wiggles his finger in front of Steve's face
"You know mr Munson I don't have to take care of you and I didn't have to save your ass" Steve spoke thinking it would get a reaction out of Eddie
"That's what I've been saying!" Eddie sighed

It went quite all throughout the house
They were both thinking but both about completely different things Steve was thinking about what he should do since he had forgotten to get a mattress then Eddie well Eddie was trying to figure out how to tell Steve something... something important..

Steve got up to leave
"Where are you going?" Eddie asked
"Just to the store I told you I need a mattress" Steve spoke while grabbing his car keys

Steve was heading to the door then suddenly Eddie spoke again "Hey Steve"
"Yeah Eddie?" Steve turned around
"Uh nothing man" Eddie changed his mind last second he didn't want to tell Steve not just yet
"So you don't want anything from the store?" Steve asked
"I don't know beer?" Eddie suggested
"How about when you've healed, you don't need that in your system right now"

Steve was in the camping aisle looking for an air mattress luckily it didn't take long to find one

Eddie's POV

Steve was gone so Eddie decided to take a look at what Steve grabbed
He grabbed the bag from the chair Steve's been sleeping on for the past few days
He opened it with no surprise just some of Steve's clothes and that was about it since Steve already put up all the food.
Something did catch Eddie's eyes it was a bit of denim at the bottom of the bag.
Eddie quickly pulled it out of the bag
His eyes met with the vest he gave Steve the vest was a bit bloody and torn but Eddie couldn't help but smile.
He held it to his chest and laid back slowly drifting off to sleep.

Steves POV

It was late when Steve got back since he got Eddie a nice surprise. He was walking into the room when he spotted Eddie asleep with the vest laying on his chest.

Steve really didn't want to wake Eddie especially how he was sleeping it was annoyingly adorable but in fact Eddie was actually drooling with his mouth hanging open and his arms and legs spread all across the bed

Steve unboxed the mattress rather quickly but he wasn't see how to blow up the air matteres without waking Eddie
He finally decided there wasn't a way he could do it without waking Eddie well that he could think of.

Steve was done with the mattress when he was startled "Hey pretty boy your finally done" "it looked like a struggle" Eddie added
"How long have you been awake?" Steve asked
"Oh not long but uh" Eddie stumbled barley getting out a word

"Yeah man?" Steve asked while looking down at the mattress
"Forget it" Eddie said waving his hand
"No man you've been doing this all damn day!" Steve yelled
"Doing what exactly?" Eddie didn't stutter but knew exactly what Steve meant
"You like..- keep saying something then bailing on me last second" Steve said looking up with
those puppy dog eyes he gave Nancy at that party

"I'm sorry Steve but it's not as simple as you think"  Eddie sighed
"Nothing simple" "well not since I met Dustin" Steve said
"Yeah he's a rascal but you gotta love that kid he's something special that's for sure" Eddie said smiling

"Let's talk about it tomorrow yeah?" Steve trying to bring the subject back
"Yep" Eddie said bringing his hair to his mouth to think

Steve laid down onto his bare mattress closing his eyes
"Goodnight Ed's"
All of a sudden a pillow hit Steve's face "Robin was right you are a dumbass" Eddie laughed
"what?!" "So you get to call me stupid nicknames but I can't!" Steve asked in frustration
"No because your bad at it" Eddie said looking down at the man laying on the floor
"What ever VAMPIRE BOY" Steve teased
"Vampire boy? Wow I'm hurt" Eddie still laughing at Steve's terrible attempts at teasing Eddie

Eddie started to speak again but then he heard Steve snoring.
Steve wanted to talk about the vest but he got distracted before he ever said anything.
