"A-Anastacius?!"

Jennette was alerted by his presence. Her eyes narrowed at him.

"Calm down. I'm not an enemy anymore"

Jennette wasn't like her past naive self who would easily believe that everyone had good intensions.

"Why are you here?"

"I was passing by and heard you screaming. So I came in, to see you choking. I stepped in and saved you"

Jenette was still suspicious of Anastacius and remained on high alert.

"Besides, why would I hurt you? You're my daughter" Anastacius said.

Jennette was taken aback by his words. She felt weak and unable to say anything. Could she deny it, when she knew it was true?

At that moment, Ijekiel and Anthanasia came into her room because the doors were left open.

Ijekiel was surprised to see Anastacius sitting in Jennette’s room while Anthanasia looked over at the two of them, quickly reading the atmosphere.

"Anastacius please come with me. Jennette, Ijekiel has something he has to tell you"

She looked at Ijekiel, urging him to tell Jennette about Duke Alpheus. Then she left with Anastacius following behind her.

After half an hour, Anthanasia called Lily, Felix, Lucas, Ijekiel and Jennette, explaining the situation with Anastacius. Everyone gave their own opinion on what they thought.

She then excused herself along with Lucas. Anastacius had said he wanted to explain something to the black magician.

"I can wake Claude up"

..!
..!

Anthanasia and Lucas shared a look, scanning Anastacius with surprise then skepticism.

They had tried almost everything to wake Claude up from his unconscious state, and now Anastacius claimed he could do it?

The both of them were silent, letting Anastacius go on with his words.

"My body is capable of absorbing a huge amount of black magic. Claude is unconscious because he is afflicted by the curse. If the black magic is redrawn, his curse will also be lifted"

Anthanasia looked over at Lucas, who had been listening to Anastacius. He looked to be deep in thought, as he nodded to himself.

"But in order for me to do it. I have four demands"

Anthanasia didn't seem surprised but only remained calm while still being suspicious of his motives.

"What are they?"

"Firstly, do not make Claude aware of my existence when he wakes up. Let him still continue thinking that I'm dead.

Secondly, please allow me to leave Obelia quietly and pronounce me to be dead to the whole society"

He then stopped and Anthanasia urged him to continue.

"What are the other two?"

"Well the third one is that I want you to help me to speak to Jennette. Please make her to hear me out"

Anthanasia felt perplexed by the simplicity of his demands. Just this, in order to wake up somebody of importance who had been unconscious for six months?

"What's the fourth?"

"The fourth isn't really a demand. It's more of a plea"

"And what is it?"

Anastacius only smiled and replied simply.

"I'll tell you what it is, when everything is over"

Biting on her lip, there was this strange feeling, seeing Anastacius smile. He greatly resembled Claude so Anthanasia briefly imagined Claude smiling.

The thought quickly left her mind.

Anastacius excused himself, leaving Anthanasia and Lucas. with everyone else to think about what they would do.

"Lucas?"

"It might actually work. That is, if the redrawal of black magic will work. I could have done it, but my mana and that of Claude's aren't compatible.

Anastacius might be able to do it....if he isn't lying to us. I'll have to channel their mana together. Once their mana is channeled Anastacius will be given authority over Claude's life.

He'll have access to end Claude's life with the mere snap of the fingers, so I don't know. Do you want to trust him? "

After understanding the whole explanation, they both went back to the Emperors office to meet with the others.

Anthanasia explained Anastacius' claim of being able to awaken Claude, with exclusion of the parts about black magic.

If news that the Emperor was associated with black magic got out, things might turn out bad.

Everyone listened to Anthanasia with full attention. Then after she was done, Felix said. "So Princess, will you allow Anastacius to save the Emperor? "

Anthanasia's palms became sweaty due to the immense pressure. Everyone looked at Anthanasia to make the final decision.

Was she to trust Anastacius? What if he betrayed them and took Claude's life? But was she to deny his help?

If so, was there another way to wake Claude up? What if Claude eventually died while they were looking for others ways to wake him up?

Facing the pressure, Anthanasia opened her mouth to say her final decision.
