The duel was intense & exhausting. Hwa-Young had tried stepping in, but was quickly disarmed by Yeonjun. She wanted to get her husband to stop before he hurt their son. Even though Soobin is the one who asked him to duel. Kai, Taehyun, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, as well as Soobin had grown close in the time frame that they met until they finally bathed in the mist. "하지 마세요. 수빈이가 끝내게 해주세요." (Don't. Let Soobin finish this.)
They were each others closest friends. No other way of describing it. Each with their families bringing something to the table. Kai was lucky to be born with magic since both Cedric & Minjung happened to be born with the same luck. There are many acutely rare cases of magical people being born to non-magical families.
Beomgyu & Taehyun' families were purebloods. Meaning there would've been less than a 3% chance either could've been born with no magical power at all.
Lastly, Hye-Su & Jiwoo were quite the mix. Jiwoo nearly killed his son with a spell to rid them of magic. Hye-Su chose her son over the love of her life. A decision she had never wished to make...
The duel didn't last much longer. Soobin managed to take down & disarm his father, but he had become completely exhausted. He wasn't the man his father was & dueling is taxing on the bodies of those who've never trained for it.
Soobin fell unconscious. Hwa-Young went for her son when Jeongsan got to Soobin first. He had grown to care for Soobin like the son he'd never had. He wasn't going to let them have him after all this. "Give me my son, Jeongsan ! Soobin needs to come home with me !", Hwa-Young screamed hoping this would garner some sympathy from the man before them all. The man they cursed all those years ago. The man who literally held her son in his arms.
Jeongsan refused as he muttered a spell that put magical handcuffs on all those in attendance. All except the boys, of course. They'd all soon be sent to Monzara Penitentiary. "걱정 마세요. 나는 그들을 마치 그들이 모두 내 자식인 것처럼 사랑할 거예요." (Don't worry. I'll love each of them as they if they were all my children.)
Without much more conversation, Jeongsan & the others made their the institute.
