Whispers of death

The sun behind the trees from afar welcomed my sight despite the blur. The cold floor made my entire body flinched.

It hurts... My entire leg hurts...

Tears fell from my eyes as I try to hold my sobs.

I saw Nyx standing outside. His hands were on his back and his eyes saddens. He breathed in before stepping inside the cage. Tumagos lang ang katawan niya mga rehas. Dahan-dahan siyang lumuhod sa harapan ko.

"Nyx..."

You're a goddess, Diere. A goddess hiding behind a young boy's body... Why?"

Napatakip ako ng mukha sa pag-iyak. I really don't what to tell him. I don't know if I could even explain anything. All I could think about was the pain on my leg. Tahimik nalang akong umiling sa kanya. "I don't know..."

"Diere--"

"I don't even look like a goddess..."

"If that's what you want, I'll respect it. I won't ask questions."

Bakit parang nanghina nalang ako kahapon noong ikinaladkad nila ako?"

"The Maiden of Cianna, Lothrein, was the eldest among the elves in Astraea. She has the power to weaken anyone in her presence..." Panimula niya.

Because of her age, she has transformed herself into an Enchantress now. King Cassius used to have high gratitudes for her, because there were only few enchantress who would choose to stay on lands to guide kingdoms."

"History says she has lived ever since the time of empires, and even before this world was named Astraea. She's very old, Diere... I can sense her slowly fading now. She's dying..."

Napakurap ako. "What does it mean when she choose to stay here?"

"It means she'll experience death. A physical death." He heavily sighed. "Enchantresses usually leave Astraea and travel into the Unknown Valley to spend eternity with their loved ones there..."

I have no interest in knowing elven people more, but I can't deny that their ways of life were wise. They are kept hidden here. Within the nature itself. They must be doing this to protect their enchantress.
