Chase laid there speechless. He didn't know if he was dreaming, or he had some drugs, or what happened. Not believing what the terrier said to him, he closed his eyes again.
"I know you don't feel the same towards me, but I'll be here for you no matter what." Sweetie continued as Chase was at the edge of sleep. Did she really said she LOVES me??? He almost freaked out. What do I do? Tell her the same? What if it's a joke?
"Sleep well, my Chase," Sweetie said at last and laid her whole body on Chase, who blushed. The possibility of Sweetie confessing to him went all over his head for days, and now, as she did it, he didn't know what to do.
Chase was trying to zone out when he heard quiet snoring from Sweetie. He carefully extended his front paws, reached for her...bottom, brought her closer to face her face, and hugged her. Finally, he placed a small kiss on her forehead and closed his eyes, now easily falling asleep.
A few hours later...
Sweetie opened her eyes just to see Chase's face. She felt that he was holding her in a hug, so she didn't move. Did he hear me? I hope so, it was hard to say. She thought as she placed a paw on his cheeks.
Could you be more adorable? She smiled as she waited for him to wake up. Just then, she saw a blink of light coming from his tag. She quickly snatched the whole collar off him and threw it outside to not have him wake up. Maybe it was an emergency. But he needs to rest.
She thought of something. Slowly and quietly she got out of the hug and out of the pup house, as she saw the others running to the lookout. He needs to rest! I won't allow them to wake him up. She thought and walked towards the lookout, Busby following her shortly. She put her paw on him as the toy blinked and hoped it works.
After a few seconds, her pup pack was seen flying towards the lookout and landing on Sweetie. She quickly changed into her suit and got into the elevator and rode it up as others were already there.
"...so, Marshall, I'll nee-Sweetie?" Ryder said as she got out of the elevator. They all looked at her in confusion as she walked to them. She looked at Ryder and gave a slight nod as he understood it clearly.
"Marshall, you'll be there in case Cali hurts herself. Rocky, I need you to pick every toy you can find and bring it in case she won't go on her own. And lastly, Sweetie," Ryder said and smiled at her, as the others were slightly confused about it. "you'll come with me and you need to sneak to Cali. She is a scaredy cat, so you need to be extra slow and stealthy." He finished as Sweetie nodded and ran after him to his pole, while the others went down the slide.
Sweetie jumped on Ryder's ATV as he started the engine up and started driving towards the town.
"Sorry, just, Chase was really tired." "I know, and I'm happy that he is finally sleeping," Ryder replied to her as they were crossing the bridge. "And I really appreciate that you joined us."
Sweetie just nodded as they were arriving at the park, where there was supposedly Cali stuck in a hole. They all got out quickly and ran to the place.
"Ryder! She went there but she does not hear me. How wi-" Katie then saw Sweetie between them and slightly got it.
"We'll get her out. Sweetie?" "On it." She said and slowly crawled into the hole that was surprisingly big enough for her. Slowly and stealthy, she also needed to be extra careful, because the dirt could fall on her. Jesus, where is this cat? She continued crawling through the tunnel till she heard slight meowing.
Moving slightly faster, in a few seconds, she got to the gray small kitty. Sweetie saw that Cali had her paw stuck under a root of a bush or a tree. She quickly bit the root as her paw got free. Then, she dug very carefully a small additional tunnel for her to get in as Cali needed to pass her.
