C6: A step closer

Sweetie and Gasket exited the bus as they were greeted by the famous husky named Everest, and a dalmatian next to her. Sweetie also saw something small move behind them but didn't care.

"Hello, girls," Everest said to the two as she went and hugged Gasket and after that hugged Sweetie.

"Hey, Everest. How are you doing?" Sweetie asked the husky.

"Oh, I'm fine. A little windy today, so need to be ready to jump and rescue if needed. That's why I have my medic pup here." She giggled and touched Marshall's nose. Sweetie smiled, only to think she could never experience something like this. "Come inside, I'll make tea." 

They nodded and followed the couple inside the cabin. As they got in, they saw toys all over the place and some moving blankets.

"Ashley, come and meet guests," Everest shouted out which confused Sweetie. Just then, a lavender fur was spotted jumping out of her hiding spot and running to Sweetie. She looked at the pup. It was small, probably still a puppy, it had black spots here and there and had cute little fluffy ears.

"Oh hi, there little one," Sweetie said to the small pup. "I'm Sweetie."

"I'm Ashley." The small pup said and sniffed Sweetie to see if she was dangerous. "Why do I smell uncle Chase fwom you?" 

As she said it, everyone in the room broke down laughing. Sweetie only tried to hide her red cheeks as they continued laughing.

"I-I just h-hugged h-him." Sweetie defended herself but they continued laughing. After a while, they stopped. "So, whose is she?" Sweetie asked them, pointing at the small puppy.

"Well, it's. Mine." Everest said and looked at Ashley. "And to be honest, it's the best feeling." She finished and went into the kitchen, followed by Gasket. Sweetie stayed in the living room along with Marshall and Ashley.

"Well, how it went?" Marshall asked Sweetie to which she smiled.

"I waited for him, we talked, hugged and that's it." "Only that?" He questioned her more as she only nodded. "Well if you say so." 

"Marsh, go out and play with Ashley, kay?" Everest said as she walked into the living room with a tray with tea on it. Marshall nodded and ran out with Ashley.

"Thanks," Sweetie said as Everest gave her the tea. 

"So, Sweetie, that's where you were?" Gasket asked the terrier as she nodded. "Didn't know you and Chase were close."

"We aren't. Do you girls know why he needs to go and see a therapist?" Sweetie asked the two, only receiving no's. "Well, it's because of me."

"Oh. But, Chase...never told us you did something to him. He said he and Claw-" "The last time he was there Claw attacked him. But why did he lie?" Sweetie asked, slightly concerned. She didn't know if they were lying and Chase told them the truth, or Chase lied.

"Maybe he just didn't want us to know it, who knows?" Everest said, sipping the tea. "But if you are saying the truth, I think Chase forgave you."

"Why should he? He has no reason to." Sweetie defended herself for no reason.

"Sweetie, think about it. He doesn't treat you badly. Maybe he loves you as well." Gasket said as the terrier's cheeks turned red.

"I-I d-don't-" "Sweetie, you do, and you can't deny it," Everest said, raising her voice. "And you don't have to hide it. Go, hug him and tell him."

Sweetie sighed. They were right, and she wasn't the one that could start the relationship with Chase. It would've been a bad idea. She needs to wait till Chase does it, but she can say she loves him at least.
