Obey Me Fanfic Ideas and Stuff

some aus because i'm bored with S1 being rehashed the same way over+over again

warning: Lesson 16 spoilers (3,4,7,14), suicide mention (15)

num 8 isn't really an AU but i wanted to add it anyway :)

1: a demon!MC au where MC fills out the online application without knowing what it is. MC is let into the program anyway because they were raised in the human realm and they don't know much about the Devildom or its culture. MC is used to pretending to be human so it's a shock being around so many people like them and most of the time they can't help but keep up the act because that's what they're used to; that's what has kept them safe for their entire life.

2: another demon!MC au where MC does not know they're a demon but it's blatantly obvious to anyone who knows what they're looking for. MC struggles to accept themself as the demon they are while juggling all the responsibilities of being an exchange student and maybe at some point they wonder if they'll have to choose between self-acceptance and their human world family.

3: an au where MC isn't Lilith's descendant but her spirit is still tethered to MC in some way. Lilith's ghost acts as MC's 'imaginary friend' and they go through the exchange program together. meanwhile, Lilith is trying (and failing) to hide her connection to the brothers from a curious MC. also, i just love the thought of Beel crying over Lilith as MC talks to her in the next room

4: an au where MC's weird genetics made lesser demons avoid them unconsciously. nobody takes notice of this fact until another human exchange student arrives and- you can imagine where this goes (this also explains why MC doesn't seem to have many friends)

5: an au where there are two MCs and they're siblings. only one MC makes it out alive (bonus points if the remaining MC hates the brothers for letting their sibling die) (you can choose when the death takes place)

6: an au where the brothers have to work harder to earn MC's trust (bc after S1 you cannot expect me to believe MC trusts these dudes with anything)

7: an au where Belphie's isolation in the attic affects him more than in canon and he doesn't get out of the attic until much later (maybe Luci lets him out because he notices how the isolation is affecting him) (tho it would have to affect him enough for him not to be a danger to anyone, bc i think that's the only way Luci would let him out)

8: (post-canon) there's a monster in the forest that's been labeled a danger to the Devildom's people. the brothers go investigate only to learn that the monster is... MC?!

9: an au where Levi has no eyebrows. that's it

10: an au where MC's beyond terrible at their schoolwork. it's funny at first but now it's just concerning

11: an au where Satan and MC meet at a creative writing class. they're both having tough times so they're trying to work their emotions out through writing (and maybe they bond over a shared struggle and/or help each other work through things)

12: an au where most demons speak their own language (a language that MC physically can't speak) and MC has to try and navigate all of that on top of schoolwork and keeping themself alive

13: an au where Levi is picked as MC's guardian instead of Mams

14: an au where Belphie doesn't hate humans as much (he hates them but definitely not enough to kill one) and he's chosen as MC's guardian instead of Mams (at this point Luci is just screwing with them)

15: an au where Mams passes away (maybe he offs himself or dies from an untreatable illness) before the exchange program starts (this would probably change a lot of the story)
