By 7 PM, the six of them gathered in front of a bustling fast-food restaurant. The majority had been craving greasy comfort food, and it was an easy consensus.

Gayoon and Yangyang arrived last, walking from the bowling alley. Their laughter carried over as they recounted silly moments from earlier.

But just as they approached, Gayoon froze. Her eyes locked on someone new standing among the group—a face she knew all too well.

"Oh, is that Lee Donghyuck?" Yangyang asked, his curiosity piqued. He turned to Gayoon. "Hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah," Gayoon muttered, though her teeth sank into her bottom lip. She willed herself forward, her nerves on edge.

Donghyuck's eyes never left hers, their gaze crackling with unspoken tension.

As she neared the group, she instinctively moved to stand beside Jisung, hoping the younger boy could shield her from Donghyuck's imposing presence.

"Oh, good, you're finally here," Doyoung said with a grin. But then his brow furrowed. "Gayoon, why are you standing there? Shouldn't you be next to Donghyuck?"

Gayoon's heart sank. Why did he have to point that out?

"Me?" she asked, feigning innocence as she pointed to herself.

"Yes, you. Beside Donghyuck, your soulmate."

Yangyang blinked, eyes wide. "Wait—soulmates? You and Donghyuck?"

"Yes, we are," Donghyuck said lowly, his voice carrying a hint of possessiveness. He stepped forward, gently but firmly pulling Gayoon to his side. His eyes flicked to Yangyang, narrowing slightly before he turned to the others. "Shall we go in?"

The group placed their orders quickly, and the usual mix of burgers, fries, and milkshakes made its way to their trays. But the seating arrangement was far from usual: Yangyang, Gayoon, and Donghyuck found themselves sharing one side of the table.

Yangyang, with his natural charm, fit right in with the group. He cracked jokes, shared stories, and even had Jisung and Yuna laughing uncontrollably. It lightened the mood—but not for Donghyuck.

The more Yangyang talked, the more Donghyuck's jaw tightened.

Why is he so... loud? Donghyuck thought, annoyed. And why does she laugh at everything he says?

Gayoon's laughter only fueled his jealousy, though he tried his best to mask it.

When Gayoon complained about running out of nuggets, Yangyang immediately slid his leftovers onto her plate.

"Here," he said with a grin.

"No, no, it's yours!" Gayoon protested.

"I'm already full. Take it."

Donghyuck's lips thinned into a hard line. Across the table, Jisung caught the subtle shift in his expression and smirked, mentally filing away the moment to tease him about later.

"Hyung, want some fries?" Jisung asked, feigning innocence.

Gayoon, oblivious, offered Donghyuck some of hers. "You like fries, right?"
