"What happened..?""She...... and then ...... shot."
"I....here....the best......"
Iris' eyes eyes fluttered as she slowly came back into consciousness, trying to listen to the people around her. But she couldn't make out full sentences. She only heard a few words here and there. "She's walking up." Now that sentence she heard nice and clear. She snaps her eyes opens and looks around her.
She was being carried, in Steve's arms, around the compound. Around her were Tony, Natasha, Wanda, and Vision. She looked down at her side to see blood staining her shirt and spilling onto Steve's arms. She winced in pin and Natasha looked down at her. "Hey hey it's gonna be alright." she pushes the hair out of Iris' face and gives a comforting smile. "Just relax."
Iris sighs and closes her eyes again, relaxing. She trusted that they would take care of her and she was in too much pain to keep herself awake. She feels herself being put down onto a bed, then she fully lets herself go.

A few hours later, Iris wakes up laying in what looks like a hospital bed. Except it wasn't in a hospital. She was in the lab. She sat up in the bed, with a groan. She reaches out and feels her side wrapped in bandages. The pain was a little better, but she didn't think she could walk. She reaches under her shirt and pulled out her necklace. She stared down at the stone. It wasn't as dull as it was before. As she stares at it, she noticed tiny strings of light floating around inside.
She could transfer the power back into the stone. She figured out what she had been wanting to do for years. She could get rid of it. Say goodbye to the powers and troubles that came with it, forever. But was that a good idea? Now she knew someone was after it. She heard a knock at the door which made her quickly drop the necklace under her shirt again. "Come in."
Steve slowly opened the door and came walking into the room. He shut the door behind him and sighed, walking over to her bed. "Hey." he sits on the edge.
"Hey." Iris smiles lightly at him before noticing his worried expression. "What's wrong? Is it bad?" she asks, leaning towards him.
"No. You're going to be fine." he looks at her. "But for a moment there I thought you weren't going to be."
Iris reaches out and grabs his hand "Well I'm ok now. You don't have to worry." Steve stares at her eyes, watching her expression soften.
"Iris..I don't wanna lose you." he looks down at their hands. Iris reaches out and touches his cheek.
She shakes her head gently "You won't." at that moment right there, she had made her decision. She wasn't going to give up her powers. Steve's eyes fall down to her lips, then back to her eyes, and Iris noticed.
"Iris.." Steve starts but Iris cuts him off. She leans forward the best she could without hurting herself, and kisses him. She closes her eyes, putting both hands on opposite sides of his face. Steve melts into the kiss and puts his hands gently on her waist. Iris pulls away and looks at Steve waiting for a response.
"Took the words right out of my mouth."
The door to the left opens and Iris and Steve both turn their heads to see who was coming in. It was Tony. He walked in and looked between the two, before focusing on Iris. "How're you doing?" he asks tilting his head.
"Okay.." Iris shrugs "it still hurts but, better than before." she stares up at Tony and he smiles down at her.
"Good. Get some rest." he rubs her shoulder "Can't have you hurt forever."
