The peaceful day everyone once enjoyed came to an end quicker than they had expected. Iris still wasn't sure about everything that was happening. She felt she needed to figure this out- to fix this before things got worse. It was her fault it got this bad. Working in those gangs at such a young age with a power she didn't even understand."Listen, I know this has been nice. Really nice. Not having to worry or do anything. But we can't pretend like everything is fine. We still have no idea what's going on with Damien and the aliens coming after me." Iris sighed "I would like to try and figure it out before it's too late."
Everyone had gathered in the conference room per Iris' request, and now they all sat at the long table."Iris look, the only reason we're not trying to figure this out is to keep you safe." Steve leans forward on the table.
"That makes zero sense. There's the generation difference I guess." Iris jokes and gets a quiet laugh out of Tony. "Sorry."
"As much as I hate to say it, Steve's right. our priority is keeping you safe. And to do that, we do not want to be going after the scary aliens and messing with them. We all remember what happened in New York." Tony looks around the room.
Iris groans "Why is everyone so set on protecting me? I can fight off an alien by myself, I don't need protection. If that alien hadn't used the stone to absorb my powers he would've been dead."
"So what we have one normal day and that's enough for you? You can't live a normal life?" Steve raises his voice.
"No Steve I can't." Iris raises hers "Ever since I touched that goddamn stone I haven't been able to have a single normal moment in my life. I don't see that happening anytime soon. Let's move on."
Iris rests her forehead in her hand and sighs."We need to figure out what the aliens actually want. We know they're after the power stone, but why?" Natasha leans on the wall in the back of the conference room.
"That's a good point. What if they're after all of them.." Tony mumbles quietly.
The room went quiet. Tony's comment for all of them thinking. What if this really was bigger than they thought? Would it put all of them in danger?"If they're after more than just mine then..what does that mean for Vision?" Iris glances at Wanda and Vision sitting at the corner of the table.
Everyone sits in silence glancing around the room waiting for someone to talk.
"We have to test the theory that they want the stones." Iris spoke, breaking the silence."And how would we do that?" Natasha asks crossing her arms.
"We lure them here, with my stone. My powers."
"Are you crazy?" Tony stands from his chair.
"Listen. I have an idea. Most of you..will probably hate it. But it might be the best thing to do." Everyone turns and watches as Iris stands from her chair, taking Tony's spot up front.
"I use my powers. Enough of it, to trigger their 'alarms'. It will lure them here..to Earth. Maybe we can figure out why they're looking for them.""No. We're not doing that. That's putting you and Vision in danger." Steve shakes his head. "That's not an option."
"Steve. It might work." Iris stares at him, tilting her head.
"So what once they get here we're just gonna ask them.. 'Oh hey, why do you guys want the stones?' they're just going to kill us." Tony looks at Iris "They almost killed you."
"We let them take the stone." Vision spoke up.
"There's no point..the stone barely has any of its power. They're not going to want it. The power is in Iris." Steve looks at Vision.
