Entering his trailer, Eddie was surprised to see his uncle there.
"Hey! Nice to see that you're back!" He said, giving his uncle a hug. After his dad left him, Wayne took him in as his own son. Eddie thought of him more as a father figure than his uncle.
"It's good to see you again, too." Wayne replied, giving Eddie a smile.
"I'm gonna be in my room watching a few movies I got." Eddie said, holding up a bag.
"Alright, I'll call you out if I need you." His uncle replied, nodding.
Eddie got up to his room and immediately took his shoes off, tossing them next to his door. He walked over to his DVD player and put one of the movies in, hitting play on the remote as he lied down on his bed.

After Steve's shift was over he went straight over to the trailer park. As much as he hated "talks", there were a few things he needed to say before they started fresh. It wasn't very easy for him to just forget about things.
Of course when he knocked on the door he expected to see Eddie, but instead was met by his uncle answering the door. Steve was a little shocked to actually see the man in person, only hearing about him from Eddie years ago.
"Uhm... is Eddie here?" Steve asked nervously.
"Come on in, he's in his room." Wayne replied, opening the door more so that Steve could get through.
"Thank you, sir." Steve said, stepping into the trailer.
"Steve, right? I'm Eddie's uncle, but you can call me Wayne." He said, shaking Steve's hand, "I've heard good things about you, son."
"I'm glad." Steve replied, "It's nice to meet you, Wayne." He smiled and was headed off to Eddie's room.
He knocked on the door, making sure it was safe to come in before hearing Eddie give him the ok to do so, closing the door behind him.
He saw Eddie sprawled out across his bed, eating chips and watching a movie. When he saw Steve enter the room though, he quickly paused the movie.
"Hey." He said, sitting up a bit and dusting chips off himself.
"Hey." Steve said, giving him a small smile.
He sat down next to Eddie, nervously playing with his hands before speaking.
"I know we both want a fresh start, but I can't do that without saying a few things first." He kept his eyes on the wall in front of him.
"I'm listening." Eddie said, sitting up closer to Steve and looking at him, even though he wasn't looking back.
Steve took a deep breath before he started. "I'm really fucking sorry I shut you out, I was just scared. I was afraid of myself. It felt like if I ran everything would get better, but everything just got worse." He took a pause, "After that night, I couldn't stop thinking about you, so I stayed away from you so that eventually I'd forget about you. Everything felt wrong, I felt like I'd been cursed by something evil that was haunting me every single day. I mean, I eventually came to terms with everything and realized I could be myself, I didn't have to hide who I was from anyone. The real world isn't like high school where you get beat up and bullied for liking certain things, being any part of the LGBTQ+ community, or dressing however you like. I mean, I quickly lost popularity for just hanging out with you. Kids are just mean. But that's not the point, the point is that I was horrible to you. I shouldn't have called you what I called you, and I definitely shouldn't have said those things about you. I want you to know that I didn't act that way because of you or your feelings for me, it was because of my own feelings. A-And I really fucking regret it. I'm so fucking sorry man." His voice started getting a little shaky at the end.
Eddie sat there, processing the words that came out of Steve's mouth. Is he saying what he thinks he's saying? Either way, right now was definitely not the time to question that. He looked back at Steve and saw a tear drip off of his cheek, then placed a hand on his cheek to wipe it away and embraced the boy in a comforting hug.
They sat there like that for a few moments before Eddie finally spoke. "Hey, it's alright, I know how it feels to be terrified of yourself. All throughout school, constant bullying, always made me feel like I had some sort of mental illness. None of that was your fault, it happened no matter what." He let go of Steve and made him look up at him. "Can I show you something they did to me? I trust you."
Steve nodded.
Eddie pulled up his shirt, revealing a large scar on his abdomen. FAG. "They did it in the bathroom. Before you even told people anything, before we even met. It just shows how awful some people can be."
"I'm so sorry." was all Steve could say.
"You don't have to say sorry for anything, it wasn't your fault." Eddie replied, "Believe me, Steve, I've been through worse than what happened with us. You're alright. I'm honestly just glad your back." He said letting his shirt fall back down.
"I really missed you." Steve said, hugging Eddie again, this time squeezing him harder.
"I missed you too." Eddie replied, hugging him as well.
"God, that was so hard to say." Steve said, backing out of the hug.
"I'm proud of you."

It had been almost two hours, the boys were laying on the bed watching another one of the movies Eddie had rented. They ate a few snacks here and there but other than that they were pretty hungry.
"Do you want me to order something?" Eddie asked, looking over at the other boy who was almost asleep.
"Sure." Steve replied, his voice muffled by a blanket.
"What do you want?" Eddie asked, fighting back a smile while he looked at him.
"Anything is fine." Steve replied, turning over towards Eddie and looking at him for a few seconds before shutting his eyes.
Eddie smiled at him and ordered something on his phone, going back to watching the movie until their food arrived.
