(Kier's POV)
When I called Laurence's name, I watched as he jumped a little, then turned to face me. He looked quite shocked, but pleased that I was there all at the same time.
"Kier...?"
I simply smiled at Laurence, feeling more free to act how I wanted around Laurence without being pressured to be mean to him by Drew.
"W-why are you here? Why aren't you in school?"
Oh god, did I admit to him that I actually went looking for him?
"I...erm...was worried when I didn't see you standing outside the classroom."
Laurence raised his eyebrows and a small smile formed on his lips.
"You were...worried about me? You came looking for...me?"
I rolled my eyes and nodded. Well done, Captain Obvious...
I sat beside the boy and sighed. I felt Laurence turn his head to me, then a little, breathless giggle escaped from him.
"Remember when...we used to hang out here?" Laurence asked. I nodded, smiling slightly. Memories of me and Laurence flooded back to me, and to be honest, it did made me tear slightly.

Oh, come on, Kier! This isn't like you to cry!

"So...erm...what made you come here?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
"Stupid lectures..." Laurence sighed.
"But you've never been sent out before? What's with you?"
Laurence coughed awkwardly before answering. "I don't exactly know myself. Recently I've just felt more...confident I suppose."
"You've never been like this before, Laurence." I mumbled.
"I know...but...I kind of like the new Laurence."
I nodded. Yes, I think I preferred the new Laurence, he'd be a lot more fun. But could I ever get used to it? And if I made friends with him, what would the others say?
I slowly stood up and made my way over to a small wooden fence, remembering that it was one of the many places me and Laurence hung out together. We would spend many times laughing at how I could never climb the little fence. It was stupid, but it was something that me and Laurence found hilarious.

I glanced over at Laurence to see him giggling slightly. And that got me thinking; should I just tell him that I want to be friends and we could forget all this? Besides, he wasn't the loser he used to be, right?
"Uh...L-Laurence?"
"Mm?"
Laurence smiled at me, pushing his black fringe from his eyes. Go on, Kier, just tell him. Better to get it over with.
"Why did we...actually fall out?"
I watched Laurence's reaction as I spoke, he looked kind of shocked.
"I don't...I don't really know Kier."
I bit my lip and nodded. "Um...well...there's something else I want to ask you."
Laurence raised his eyebrows and nodded, beckoning me to continue.
"I'm going to lose my "badass"" I put up two fingers and lifted them up and down to emphasise the last word. "reputation. But erm...I was wondering if you wanted to...forgive me for everything that happened last week."
Laurence's mouth made an "o" shape and his eyes went a little wider through his glasses. Great, he thought I was stupid.
"So you're saying you...want to be friends again."
I nodded eagerly, trying to prove my point. Laurence gave me a toothy grin and nodded.
"Of course, Kemp."
I suddenly felt so happy once again, I'd finally said it, and now we were friends once again! See what can happen when you just open up?

(Laurence's POV)
I couldn't believe that Kier had apologised and now we were good again. It was like clicking your fingers and we're friends! I could do nothing at that point but smile; how I'd missed my red haired friend.
"I've just got to tell the others..." Kier muttered, sighing heavily afterwards.
"I wouldn't worry about them, Kier."
Kier hummed and nodded. "I suppose."
We sat in an awkward silence for a moment, until I found something to (finally!) say.
"So when do we go back to class?"
Kier clicked his tongue thoughtfully, then shrugged. "We're going to have to at some point. Why, when were you thinking?"
"I don't want to..." I muttered truthfully.
"Me neither, but I've escaped school many times, and trust me, you don't want to. Better to get back than get into trouble."
"Ooh what's with you giving this good advice, eh?" I giggled. Kier smirked and shook his head.
"What's with you turning all badass?"
"Point taken."
"We've got break next, haven't we? We could always go back then, nobody would suspect a thing!"
I nodded. "Or we could stay down here like we used to at break?" I suggested. Kier sighed and shook his head. "I can't, I promised Drew a bag of cookies at break. I've got to go meet them."
Great...
"Should I come too?"
Kier shrugged. "If you want?"
I looked down at my watch and noticed we only had 2 minutes until break.
"You wanna head up, then?" I asked.
Kier nodded, heading back over to me and picking up his bag. He then looked at me and smiled.
"You ready?"
I nodded, smiling.
I felt Kier drape an arm over my shoulder, and I couldn't help but grin continuously to feel his presence once again. I slipped my arm round Kier's waist before we started heading back to the building. Never had I felt so happy to have my Kier back.
