(Laurence's POV)
I stepped along the long dark path, my head down and my hands in my pockets. I'd been out alone all evening, doing absolutely nothing, and now it was dark and I figured it was time to get home. I took my phone from my pocket and switched it on, squinting from the light as the lock screen showed. 11:30pm. Never had I stayed this late out in my whole life, but it felt good to do so, just to be alone for a while. Well, I wasn't exactly alone, as Kier had been constantly texting me that he was either bored or wanted me to drop by. But I couldn't now, could I? It was nearly midnight. I had the odd thought of going round, but I'd see him tomorrow anyway.

I suddenly heard my phone buzz, and it did make me jump a little since I was all alone in the dark street. It was (yet another) text from Kier.

Kier: Hey Laur, you still out? X

I could already tell he was going to ask me to come round, this had already been repeated earlier.

Me: Yeah man, just on my way home. Why? x

Ooh putting kisses on the end of our texts, manly right? I decided to keep walking as I waited for Kier's reply, my parents were probably panicking at where I was, so I had to get home. For some reason, I never had neither of my parents numbers, which was stupid in my eyes, what if I had an emergency?
My phone soon lit up with another text from Kier, and I sighed as I read it.

Kier: I know I'm a nag, but I'm bored Can you pleaaasee come over? X

Me: I have to get home, Kemp But I'll see what I can do x

Kier didn't text me back after this, but I was kind of glad I didn't have the nagging of the boy following me home. As rude as that sounded, it was nice to be on my own for a bit.

As I continued walking, I realised that in order to get to Kier's, I had to walk down a small alleyway, and this did make me slightly nervous. I always thought of alleyways as being a stereotype for something bad to happen, you know what I mean? But as unsure I felt about walking down, I still had no other choice. As I began stepping down, I made up a sort of plan in my head; I'd simply walk quickly. Besides, who would actually be sad enough to walk through an alleyway at nearly midnight? Oh, wait...

I finally made my way down the creepy steps and was now on my way through the echoing alley. Old Laurence would never dream of walking down here, so look at where the new Laurence has got me! I must say, I was pretty proud of myself!

As I made my way through the alley, I suddenly had a strange feeling that I wasn't alone. I kept hearing small noises every now and again, and there was a looming shadow on the wall. Despite all of this, I still carried on walking, but a little more conscious.
"Beveridge?" A voice suddenly hissed. I instantly jumped in shock and my heart began to race. I wasn't alone. But how had they got my name?
"Oi, loser, down here!" The voice hissed again. I felt physically sick with fear, but managed to turn round. A small boy was sat with knees pulled up to his chin and he was giving me a hateful glare. I sighed when I realised exactly who it was.
"Drew?"
"No, its Batman..." he muttered sarcastically. I simply rolled my eyes at the boy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I think I should be asking you that. What's an idiot like you doing down here at this time?"
"I'm off to Kier's actually."
Drew's face suddenly lit up. "You are?"
I nodded, slightly confused at why he seemed so happy all of a sudden.
"Perfect..." he muttered, grinning in a slightly creepy way.
"What?"
Drew's head then snapped up at me and he shook his head. "Oh...er...nothing..."
"So come on, then, answer my question." I continued.
Drew tutted. "Do you have to know everything about what I'm doing?"
"Jesus, I only asked why you were here..."
"Well it's got nothing to do with you."
"Well I won't ask you in future."
Drew raised an eyebrow. "You don't like me anyway, just like I don't like you."
Drew sounded so childish as he said this, it almost made me laugh. Instead, I sighed and shook my head.
"Well I need to get going anyway. Was nice talking to you...not."

Haha, get in Laurence!

Drew smiled at me, a clever little smirk plastered on his small face.
"Always a pleasure, Beveridge! Not."
I scoffed before starting to walk down the alley, but I was interrupted by Drew calling me.
"Bevers!"
I rolled my eyes and spun back round. Drew bit his lip before speaking.
"Look, I know we both hate eachother and everything but...I need to ask you something."
"Hurry up, then. Kier's probably waiting."
"That's...what I want to ask you about. I need you to do me a favour."
I nodded, beckoning him to carry on.
"If you do this for me, I can make your popularity go right up."
God, he did babble on.
"Why would I do you any favours anyway?" I asked in curiosity.
"Because it involves Kier."
"Christ, Drew, just tell me."
Drew cleared his throat and ruffled his ginger hair before he spoke.
"I need you to steal off Kier."
