Chapter 3: Big Night Love At First Sight

Tonight is the first night of Rachel's performance for "Funny Girl", as she waits backstage to be called on for when she sings "I'm the greatest star", Kurt surprises her backstage to wish her good luck and to break a leg. Rachel is called. She goes to stand on her spot and the curtain is raised. Rachel then begins to sing the song, and at the same time, she catches the eye of someone no-one expected to be there, Finn Hudson.

F: Excuse me, hi, I'm Finn Hudson.

K: Kurt Hummel, and I know who you are, you're more good looking in person.

F: Thank you.

K: You're not creeped out by that, you aren't going to tell me to get out of the
damn chair?

F: No, actually, Mr. Hummel...

K: Please, call me Kurt.

F: Ok, Kurt, I actually grew up with a gay best friend, he's like a gay brother to me.

K: Oh really, what's his name?

F: Blaine Anderson, he was part of the Dalton Academy Warbler's back when I was in high school, and in Glee club.

K: You? You were in Glee club?

F: Yeah, I was. I was actually the leading guy in my Glee club, the New Directions. Our leading lady was my ex-girlfriend, Quinn Fabray, we were going to get married.

K: What happened?

F: She was texting and driving, but she always did, and didn't realize that a car was coming. The car hit her car head-on and killed her on impact. The thing that sucks, is that she died on the day we were going to be married. Ever since that day, I haven't looked at anyone the same way, but I think that all changed. You wouldn't mind telling me who that beautiful woman is down there on the stage, do you?

K: That's Rachel Berry, we were in Vocal Adrenaline together. We bonded and are best friends.

F: Wait, did you say Vocal Adrenaline?

K: Yeah.

F: I was wondering were you looked familiar from. You guys smoked our asses at regionals with "Bohemian Rhapsody", you guys were fucking amazing.

K: Thank you. I'm surprised. I've talked to some of the other New Direction kids, and they all wanted to kill Rachel and I, but you, you're very different Mr. Hudson.

F: Please, Kurt, call me Finn.

K: You're very different, Finn.

The play had progressed on, and Finn and Kurt were getting to know each other a lot more. Kurt telling Finn everything that he knew about Rachel. After the curtain call, Kurt went to get Rachel and show her a surprise.

R: Kurt, why are you in such a hurry? What could you possibly show me?

K: I talked to someone who is really, really famous, Rachel.

R: Oh my god, did you meet Barbra Streisand and not bring her backstage?

K: What, no. Rachel I want you to meet someone who really loved your performance tonight. I made friends with him, and it turns out he was a member of the New Directions, if you could believe it.

R: Who is it, Kurt?

K: Rachel Berry, meet Finn Hudson. Finn Hudson, meet Rachel Berry.

R: H-H-H-Hi.

F: Hello. You did very good tonight.

R: Thanks and, wow, you are way sexier in person.

F: So are you, well up close.

K: Romance?

F: Kurt, I told you that ever since Quinn had died, I don't want to be involved in any type of romance.

K: But, you asked who this BEAUTIFUL woman is?

F: Because she is a very beautiful woman and I wanted to know her name, so I can find her and tell her that her performance was the greatest I've seen. After all, I thought Broadway was dead, until you came along, Ms. Berry. You brought live back to this amazing place and if anyone can't see that, fuck 'em.

R: Yeah, I guess I could just tell them to fuck off.

K: Ok, well Finn, thanks for meeting her and talking to us, it was a really nice pleasure meeting you, but we have to get going.

F: As do I, I have a meeting with a very close friend and I shouldn't keep him waiting, oh and Ms.Berry, these flowers are for you. For an excellent show.

R: Thank you.

Finn gave her a kiss on the cheek and got into his car so he could have his meeting with his very close friend, Rachel was happy, but wanted to know more about him. Why did he want her? What does he want from her? Was it a new love at first sight?
