We open back up to the Time Wheel continuing to spin on its target. The camera then cuts to show Fireball XL5 flying through space, catching up with the strange spinning device. Steve Zodiac is curious about this when he sees it ahead of him. The Time Wheel keeps spurting flames, fire, and powerful energy from it.
Steve Zodiac:
Say, what's that up ahead, Matt?
We cut to the Navigation Bay where the Professor analyses the object from the monitor that is presented before him. From here we will alternate from Steve and Matt, sometimes hearing each other's conversation on their communicators.
Professor Matic:
Well, this object whatever it is, is travelling at a relatively low speed. And its origin comes from... my! It comes from the three following planets; Slumpa, Rimpa, and Planet 46.
Steve Zodiac:
That spells trouble. What is it exactly?
Professor Matic:
A hybrid energy device, Steve. Generating a colossal amount of power that it's renewing itself with.
Steve Zodiac:
And we need no second guesses about where it's headed for. Arm all war heads.
We see the stock footage of the flap opening to reveal the interceptor missiles.
In range. Dead on target. Firing in 3...2...1... Zero and go!
BAM! A missile fires at the spinning Time Wheel. Electric bolts fry, and then they launch at the incoming missile. DDDDDDZZZZZZ!!!!!! KABOOM! The missile was destroyed.
Professor Matic:
Steve, the missile has produced an electric forcefield around itself. We can't get our missiles near it.
Steve Zodiac:
Then we will try something else.
We see the electric energy beginning to fry around it more intensely again.
Professor Matic:
Steve! Watch out! It's gonna strike!
DDDDDDZZZZZZZ!!!!!!! A massive energy bolt blows out, knocking Fireball in its range. The range dissipates eventually, but the ship is sent hurtling out of control. Steve and Robert try to control their ship. Venus in her laboratory is thrown against the wall. Some of her equipment and glass tubes smash to the ground. Professor Matic's revolving chair is sent out of control.
Help! Help!
Fireball XL5 stabilises and keeps an even further distance from the Time Wheel. The Professor is left upside down in his chair, dangling his legs about. Venus recovers from the powerful shockwave and gets up. Steve checks the instruments to see that they're ok.
Steve Zodiac:
That was a nasty attack. Airlock, ok. Telemetry computer, Ansell Coll Superconductor, booster rockets, and atomic fusion reactor, all check. Robert, how about the rest of the ship?
Robert the Robot:
SSEENNSSSOORRRR DDDOOOMMMEEEE, HHHYYDDDRRROOPPPHHOOONNICCCCSSSS, IIINNJJEEECCTTOORRR PPPUUMMMPPSSSS, LLLIIFFFEEE SSUPPPPOORRRTTTT SSSSYYYYSSSTTTEEEMMMSSSS AAA—OOOOKKKK!!!!!!!
Steve Zodiac:
Gyroscope flywheel motor, booster rockets, fuel tanks, tachyon generator, all check.
The Professor gets up from his awkward position.
Professor Matic:
And one sore head! I nearly broke my arm again, Steve.
Steve Zodiac:
Sorry, Professor. Well, whatever that power source is, we dare not try anything on it again. Space City, this is Fireball XL5, come in Commander Zero?
No response.
Space City? Are you receiving this message? Commander?
No response.
Maybe our radio is damaged. But the sensor dome is working fine. Maybe something has happened at Space City we don't yet know.
The Professor looks after the spherical disc with him, which has remained intact from the incident.
Professor Matic:
Well, the sooner we get back there, the better. And with this artefact as well.
Steve Zodiac:
Flying at maximum speed now.
Fireball XL5 blasts around the Time Wheel, keeping a good distance away from the dangerous energy force. Once out of sight, we are left to see the Time Wheel keep spinning to its target...
