The first Subterrain quickly begins taking hold of Venus, untying her and using her as a hostage.
Subterrain 1:
Take hold of her! I will show Steve Zodiac we mean what we say.
The third Subterrain begins to untie her as well, helping the first Subterrain. Both aliens still torture and pull at Venus, affecting her concentration on holding the artefact. The ship can be freed from being chased by Fireball XL5 as Venus loses her concentration as the Subterrains overpower her.
Subterrain 2:
All instrumentation now restored.
The Subterrains keep smothering and torturing her so Venus cannot help herself anyway. The ship flies away from Fireball XL5. The Professor sees the ship unexpectedly whizz away, veering off to the right.
Professor Matic:
Follow them, Robert.
The SSRS escapes away from Fireball XL5. We now see the 1st Subterrain holding Venus at gunpoint to her head, tied up still. He, and the third Subterrain carrying the artefact, step close to the control console, keeping close proximity to the door.
Subterrain 1:
Now, when Zodiac enters, he will get what is coming to him.
Fireball XL5 swoops around, trying to pursue the SSRS ship but it was no good trying to catch up. At Space City, the tension spices up in the control room. The Commander and Lieutenant remain at their desks, with Eleanor and Jonathan Zero waiting in the control room. Zoonie was gone from the control area, not for anyone to know his whereabouts.
Commander Zero:
With that dogfight in the sky, all non-essential personnel have been evacuated.
Eleanor Zero:
We're sticking right here with you, honey. The safest place on the island.
Commander Zero:
Yes, dear. Where I can see you safe and sound. Anything could happen to Space City right now with the way things are going. Including... well... let's not think about that.
Jonathan Zero:
What, pa?
Eleanor Zero:
No, Jonathan, your father is very busy at the moment. After the emergency is over you can help.
Jonathan Zero:
Ok, mum. Say, where's Zoonie?
Lieutenant Ninety:
I didn't seem him leave. He's gotta be around here somewhere.
Commander Zero:
Lieutenant, I haven't got time to worry about a simple Lazoon when the fate of Space City is hanging by a thread!
The SSRS keeps rushing away from Fireball XL5, slow to catch up after it. Inside the main control room of the SSRS craft, the back door begins to slowly open. The first Subterrain tightens his grip on Venus.
Subterrain 1:
Come out, Zodiac!
The entrance fully opens, but there is no sign of him.
He is hiding. Proceed inside. And hunt him out. Dead or alive. But preferably dead.
Subterrain 3:
At once.
The 3rd Subterrain places down the artefact in a seat. With his energy weapon, he cautiously enters the black entrance. The 1st Subterrain waits for a short while until the 3rd Subterrain returns to him.
