•Harumi•

Christmas Eve was finally here, and I could not contain my excitement. I hop out of bed, running to my window. I take a moment to look at the beautiful window with a window seat that Lloyd made me. I run my hand over the wood, and sigh, thinking how sweet it was. What an amazing gift from an amazing person. I wipe away the frost from the glass, and peer outside. It had snowed! A lot!

I run to my closet, grabbing my winter coat, and pulling on my snow boots. I couldn't wait to go out in the snow. It was still pretty early in the morning, so I quietly crept out of my room, through the living room, and finally out the front door. The snow was falling gently to the ground, and I stick my tongue out, catching a snowflake.

I close my eyes, smiling. The taste reminds me of Christmas. I lean my head back, feeling the gentle snow fall on my face. I reach down, scooping up a small handful of snow, and throwing it up into the air. I beam, as it falls back down on my face.

When I lived in the palace, I never really got to play in the snow much. The Emperor and Empress were very protective. I do remember playing out in the snow with my real parents. The memory starts flooding back into my mind.

"Mommy look!" I say as I lie down in the snow, making a snow angel. My mom lays next to me and does the same. Both laughing with huge smiles on our faces, she turns to look at me.

"Harumi, close your eyes, and just listen for a minute. The sound of the snow falling is beautiful." She whispers.

I stop making the snow angel, and close my eyes tightly, listening to the sound of the snow falling. Sure enough, it was magical. It was a feeling of peace and tranquillity. I smiled.

The memory slowly fades, and I wipe away a tear that has tricked down my cheek. I lay down in the snow, making a small snow angel, and then closing my eyes tightly. I breathe in the cold frosty air, and smile.

The snow reminded me of my mom. Calm, sweet, and gentle. A part of me felt that when it was snowing, my mom was watching over me.

"I miss you mom." I whisper, sighing deeply.

Someone quietly walks over to me, laying down beside me.

I smile, knowing without having to open my eyes that it was Lloyd.

"Hey Greenie." I say softly.

"Hey Rumi. Enjoying the snow?" He asks.

I smile, opening my eyes, and turning to face him. "Of course. It's so beautiful!"

"I've always liked it to." He replies. "Aren't you cold?"

"Me? Cold? Never." I reply with a laugh, sitting up.

I scoop up a handful of snow, forming it slowly into a snowball, and tossing it up and down in my palm.

Lloyd sits up, doing the same.

"Oh it's on." He says chuckling, and we both start throwing the snowballs.

We race around the monastery courtyard, throwing and dodging snowballs, all while laughing and enjoying the feeling of Christmas Eve.

After a few minutes of this, Kai comes out the front door, a blanket still wrapped around him, and a coffee cup in his hand.

"What are you guys-." He starts to say, until a snowball Lloyd throws, hits his blanket.

"Lloyd Garmadon! You did not just-." He starts to exclaim, until I throw a snowball, which hits him again. Lloyd and I high-five, and start falling over laughing over the look on Kai's face.
