𝐓hat night, Harry was freaking out. He checked left, he checked right, he checked up, he checked down, and yet there was no sight of his box. He even went ahead to search Ron and Neville's bags! No, the wooden box was nowhere to be seen and it made him panic. So of course he made sure that if he was unhappy, so was everyone else.

"Have you seen a box, Ron?" He shook his red-headed friend.

"Wha- I don't have it," he answered groggily. Poor Weasley couldn't sleep even with the box gone. He turned away from Harry muttered incoherent words.

Potter then turned to Neville who was already sitting awake. He looked dead if not for the rise and fall of his chest. "I haven't got it, Harry," he told the boy.

"That's not possible." Harry's voice rose. He was panicking. "The box can't just disappear!"

"If it did, we can get some sleep." Ron muttered. "Or so I thought."

"What do you mean by that?" Harry swiveled his head towards his best friend.

"I'm going to sleep." Neville receded. "Or I'll try to at least."

Harry ignored him. "What happened to my box?" he asked Ron. The ginger only buried himself in his blanket.

"It's not here."

"So where is it?"

"I don't know." Ron answered honestly. It was true. After Care of Magical Creatures, the box was handed down to someone else. Someone who's know what to do with it, hide it better than anyone else.

"You said something earlier today." Harry realized. "Something about taking an item from my desk!"

"Oh for Merlin's sake!" Ron groaned. "Can we talk about this when we're supposed to be awake? Bloody hell, it's 2:31 in the morning!"

"I need that box today. As in right now!" Potter hissed.

"We'll it's not like anyone could read whatever you've written inside?!"

"So what?! They're expecting my letter!"

"Who?!" Ron cried out, reaching his breaking point. "For goodness's sake, who are you writing to every single night?! We-" He pointed at himself and Neville. "-haven't got proper sleep for the past months! YOU haven't got proper sleep for the past months! Who could be so entertaining for you to giggle every night like Pansy when she's looking at Draco?"

All of Harry's anger, restlessness, and impatience dissolved. "I don't know."

"You what-" Ron did a double-take before lifting his hands up in the air. "You know what? Forget it. We're talking about this in the morning."

And that ended the conversation.
