𝐇ermione felt a tingle in her bones; this was it. Victory was just within reach. She smirked without a moment's notice of the passerby's glancing at her direction.

"Have you got the box, Harry?"

"It's right here." The said boy pulled out the wooden container and placed it on the coffee table in the Gryffindor common room. Ron pulled out a screwdriver and eyed the box openly with malicious hunger, similar to that of a starved beast.

"I should've written to them more if I knew it'd turn out like this," Harry said in a deflated tone. "What if they never talk to me ever again?"

"Bloody hell," Ron rolled his eyes. "Maybe instead of writing letters every night like you're a pen pal with an Azkaban prisoner, you can actually talk to your little fancy face to face and I can forever sleep in peace. Who knows? Maybe they'll have to guts to ask you out and you'll live happily ever after or vice versa."

"No need to be harsh Ron," Hermione scowled. "Harry's trying his best, and quite frankly, his concerns are understandable."

"Thank you, Hermione."

"You speak as if it comes from experience," Ron frowned in disbelief. Hermione glared.

"Erm, the box is struggling right now," Harry grunted. He had snatched the box and was currently wrestling with the wood. "Can we continue with our plan B?"

"Give the box to Ron, Harry," Hermione instructed. She narrowed her eyes at the ginger. "Don't start until I say the words. Got it?" She raised her eyebrows in suspicion.

"I know, I know. Just get on with it, Hermione." Weasley rolled his eyes and mimicked her voice. The girl could only sigh. You'd think she'd be tolerant to his mockery after 5 years. Harry copied the brunette's response, letting out a breath and shaking his head.

"Alright. Ready, boys?"

"We have been."

"Yes."

She lifted her wand and spoke the incantation. "Vestigia revelare!"

The box shook, and Ron immediately stuffed the tip of the screwdriver in between the wood, just as it clamped shut. It shook and struggled before it eventually settled down. The trio let out a sigh of relief. They did it.

"If you'll do the honors," Ron handed the box to Hermione. She took the container and slipped a clamp in between the crack of the lid. Using a spell, she then forced the box to open.

"What in Merlin's beard..."
