Sargasso, Verdagris Sector, Outpost 51, 3 weeks later

After many close calls as well as endangering others, Rivet had decided it was best to work on her own with her own terms on Sargasso. Working for the Morts was pretty easy, albiet the hours were pretty brutal. When she returned to Sargasso she decided to keep working towards a real home. She went back to her little room she last had. The Morts, expecting her to come back left her little shed intact. Rivet walked in and smiled, everything she left behind was still there just like they said it would be.

Rivet smiled as she looked around and picked up her old blanket she had left behind. "Sleeping has been pretty difficult without ya." She said as she gave the blanket a pat and put it back down. She looked around to see what else she left behind and noticed her picture she had of herself and Layden. She smiled a little and picked up the picture, looking at it. "It's not easy, but I've made it all work. Hope you'd be proud." She said as she put the picture down and sat on her bed. She stretched a bit and then laid down, falling asleep slowly.

Morning came and she woke up to a ton of noise from outside. Rivet got up and walked out to investigate and she saw the Morts hard at work constructing a new Gelatonium plant down the way. Rivet smiled and didn't bother to make an inquiry since the Morts were always up to something. Recently they started making money by selling gelatonium to the Empire and it bothered Rivet quite a bit until she realized they were selling gelatonium byproduct stuff, which is still bad but it can't be used as fuel for ships that way.

Rivet stretched and walked around with a smile on her face as she got to work for the Morts, helping them set up as well as help with deliveries. The hours were pretty brutal on her but she needed the money in order to make a living out here on her own. Granted she wasn't totally alone, the Morts were there but she still preferred at the end of the day to just be by herself. The Morts didn't seem bothered by this since most of them knew her life story. They knew she needed the alone time.

Despite the history of pain and suffering, they found Rivet to be pleasant and were the first to discover that under her tough exterior she was really a secret softie. She liked playing games and fixing things and when it was all said and done she would climb on top of a building, lay down and just look up at the stars. She wondered which stars were places she had visited when she was younger and with the Resistance. The thought of the Resistance made her sit up when she looked at the stars. Sorry she wasn't out there with them.

Rivet simply felt she could do more good on her own where she wasn't really a varible in harming others. She learned her lessons all too well in her opinion. This didn't mean she wouldn't answer a call for help or do a mission she was qualified to do, but it did mean she could finally plaay by her own rules. Talwyn Apogee and her war bots Cronk and Zypher all sent messages to Rivet repeatedly, asking for her return. Talwyn clearly missed Rivet since they grew close before she left. That couldn't be helped right now.

She missed Talwyn as much as Talwyn missed her. In a way that kind of burns actually. Rivet sighed aloud as she thought about it, and climbed down from the roof top and landed on her feet. She looked around at the night sky, the stars and then at her comms device. Rivet took it out for a moment to respond to Talwyn, but she put it away slowly. She thought to herself in quiet for a moment. "Sorry for leaving you all behind like this." she said to herself, referring to having ignored Talwyn and the others or so long.

Another few months would pass before Rivet talked to anyone besides the Morts. Rivet worked for them long enough to finally have a place of her own, one big enough to have her own shop and such. She improved her arm and made more of it in case anyone got any bright ideas. Rivet's workshop area was large and she even had her own mini farm. Along side her bed was a photo of her and the main Resistance members. She seemed happy then, as she does now. Rivet would wake up everyday and smile at that photo before she went back to work.

Today was Rivet's birthday and she had decided to spend it alone, but she didn't ignore any calls she got on her comms. At first she thought she wasn't going to get one but it seemed everyone wanted to talk with her. She started with Phantom, they talked for a couple hours before she spent a few minutes at a time with the rest, and of course she was saving the most nervous one for last; Talwyn. Rivet sat there a few minutes wondering what she would even say to Talwyn but she answered the call anyways.

"Umm.. Hi! Talwyn..." Rivet greeted. Talwyn wasn't really impressed with the greeting, but happy all the same. "Hey hotshot. Been awhile." Talwyn responded. "Yeeeah, I've just been a little busy is all. The Morts needed some cargo runs done and stuff, sooo... I helped." Rivet smiled. "Well, I'm in the neighborhood, wanna hang out for a bit? It's your birthday after all." Talwyn suggested. Rivet gave a quick nod before she could even think. "Alright, we're on our way." Talwyn said. "Ha ha! We can watch old episodes of Lance and Janice!" Zypher said as a joke to them.

The communcation ended and Rivet got up quickly to head to the door and she sighed a bit. "Ok, you can do this. It's just Talwyn. She's probably only just angry you left, nothing big..." Rivet said to herself. She looked on as the door open, and she saw Talwyn and her two warbots. Talwyn walked over and reached an arm out, Rivet closed her eyes slightly expecting a punch or something but instead got embraced by Talwyn much to her surprise. "I missed you Rivet..." Talwyn said. Rivet returned the embrace enough to make an effort and smiled. "Missed you too Talwyn. Honestly."

They pulled away and looked at eachother, both smiling at another. "It's good to see you again hotshot." Talwyn said, the nickname making Rivet just give a slight hint of blush. "Yeah well, it's good to see you too. So Zypher said something about Lance and Janice?" Rivet said. Talwyn giggled. "I'm sure he was just joking." Talwyn responded. "Well, then let's make it official. We can all watch something together. No harm in that right?" Rivet asked. Talwyn nodded and they all walked on, Zypher brought in a holo-projector so they could watch Lance and Janice together.
