I was scared shitless. The day to tell my parents has come.
And that day is today.
Hunter is in the car sweating and his grip on the steering wheel is so tight the his knuckles are white.
I put my hand in his inner thigh to calm him down. He grabs my hand with his and gives it a reassuring squeeze.
"Everything will be okay," I said to him.
10 minutes later we arrived at dad's house. I rang the doorbell and he answered.
"Hey, long time no see Ril..." he trailed off looking down at my stomach.
When dad looked down, you could see his face go red with anger and... excitement?
Well, he also looked at my hand then at Hunter.
"Run!" Dad yelled at him.
Let's just say never threaten a pregnant ladies future husband.
Dad was there with a bag of peas on his... area.
Those peas officially belong to dad now.
"Speak. Now." Dad demanded.
"Well I'm engaged to Hunter and your having a grandson!" I rushed out quickly.
"A... grandson?" Dad asked with tears in his eyes.
"Yeah," Hunter replied for me to my dad.
"How far are you?" Dad asked me.
"Five months,"
Then he did the unthinkable.
Dad started...
Wait...
For...
It...
He started crying.
In all my 18 years of living have I never seen my dad cry. But these tears were happy tears.
