Chapter 28: I Think I Love You

Ryujin's POV

"I'll pay for this one," I said as I grabbed the check away from Yaneli.

"Wow, you've changed," We both giggled as I put in the right amount of money inside.

"So, was this one better than the one from yesterday?" I asked, knowing well that it was, I just wanted to hear it.

"Well duh! What do you say we go to the river again?"

"Yeah let's go!"

Perfect place to confess. This date is going perfectly along with my plans.

I couldn't believe I was so blind all this time. The one I really needed was right in front of me for years! I was just too in lust with Arin that I didn't realize my feelings for Yaneli.

But now that I did, I'm so happy.

As we happily stood up and left, I grabbed her hand and squeezed it tight while laying my head on her shoulder.

"Why are you so touchy and lovey all the sudden?" She asked.

"Why? You don't like it? I mean we used to do it all the time." I lifted my head up with slightly worried eyes.

Am I making her uncomfortable? Did I cross the line? Am I going too far too quickly?

"No no no! It's okay, it's just that... You're more touchy than before."

"Okay..." I said before I happily kissed her cheek, watching her get all shy and flustered.

As I breathed in the fresh air while holding Yaneli's hand, I remembered all the great memories we shared in this town and I couldn't help but smile.

Maybe after today we could make even more memories with her as my girlfriend and not my best friend.

I should've asked her to be my girlfriend a long time ago but I was too distracted by Arin that I couldn't notice Yaneli and how much we complimented each other.

So I'm very thankful for Arin, because of her I realized that I love Yaneli, I was just too blind to see it. Now I think I could call Yaneli my girlfriend, not my best friend.

Only if she still loves me.

"Baby~~~."

"Ryujin~~~."

"What did I tell you yesterday?" I whined again, tugging at her hand as we turned towards the river.

"Why does that matter Ryuryu?"

"You'll see in a second." I sheepishly smiled before we sat down on the bench.

This is my 3rd time confessing to somebody and I don't feel nervous anymore, because it's Yaneli and we almost never hide things from each other.

I shot her a wide smile, showing off my whisker dimples as I clung onto her right shoulder. When she giggled, I felt butterflies in my stomach and my heart beat faster as I stared into her eyes.

"What's wrong with you recently?" She backed up a little bit, clearly shy because of my actions.

"There's something wrong with this? You don't like it? Do you want me to stop?" I asked as I played with her fingers, looking down at them.

"No! No! It's fine. You said you had something to tell me, what is it?"

Here it is. The special moment. Here we go.

Wow, for once I'm not nervous, I'm actually quite happy and very excited.

"Well..." I trailed off. "Do you still have feelings for me?"

I watched as she went silent and looked into the distance, letting the air blow on her face and I couldn't help but to admire her beauty.

"Do-Does it matter now?" Yaneli stuttered as she looked back at me.

"Yes baby, now answer the question." I said as I gently grabbed her jaw with three of my fingers to keep her eyes on me.

"Y-yeah, why?" She said before I pulled her closer and closer, I stopped when our faces were just a few centimeters from each other.

"Good... Because I do too."

After I said that, I slowly pulled her into a kiss. Feeling her lips on mine felt so right and so good. She didn't kiss back for a while but when she did, it truly felt like heaven against my lips.

Our lips moved in sync when I got on her lap and our long kiss turned into a heated make out and it couldn't have been more perfect.

When we pulled away, I stared into her beautiful brown eyes and played with her hair while giving her little pecks on her lips.

"So baby... Will you be mine?"

I asked her, and I believed that after all that and years of being best friends, I could only imagine that she'll definitely say...

"Yes."

I couldn't be happier right now.

It's official! We're dating!

I smiled before I pulled her into another passionate kiss.

I couldn't believe the one I really needed, the one for me, was right in front of my eyes all this time but I'm glad that I realized it now and not later.

I'm glad that I have her in my life. And now I am honored to call her my girlfriend and not my best friend.

All the people around us were right. We were basically a couple. We are perfect for each other. I should've listened because they couldn't have been more right.

"What do you say I stay over at your place tonight?" I suggested because I wanted nothing more than to spend the night in my new girlfriend's arms as we fell asleep.

"Of course. Let's go." She answered as we both stood up and ran to her house, holding hands and fooling around a little while laughing at each other.

This is the best day of my life.
