Everyone at the office was afraid of Kylo's mood. They thought if they'd breath a bit loudly, he would fire them.

Once he came in he raised his voice. Booming all around the office he let the staff of that floor know that he didn't pay them for slagging.

Vic stared at his laptop daydreaming about his problems. It wasn't something common for him, but your phone broke and he had no way to contact you. What if something went wrong? Or if doctors had a breakthrough? Thoughts of how to afford a new phone when he still had to worry about paying rent and every other expense were draining his energy.

His mood was usually sour. However, everyone sensed something must have happened overnight to make it THAT bad.

Kylo could've sworn Hux was about to cry. His project wasn't good enough and he might have been harsher than he intended.

Vic was about to clock off work when he saw the CEO approach him. Everybody knew that meant no good news.

"How's your sister?" Kylo whispered so only he could listen to their conversation.

"She's doing all right, I'll phone the hospital in a bit." Vic ran his hand over his face showing his exhaustion. "Her phone broke" He let out a deep sigh "so I'll give them a call to know she's been today"

"Oh. Good. Well, Ummm" it was uncommon for Kylo to hesitate that way, but Vic was too tired to notice or to process that conversation. "See you tomorrow"

Kylo left the building determined to 'fix' that problem. He wasn't willing to give up on your late night conversations even if they had just started.

That following morning you awoke to the sound of an assistant placing your breakfast on the table. You stood up once she had left and went to the bathroom to brush your teeth. You got yourself ready for the day, which basically meant fixing your hair and having a shower. You decided on putting on the new hospital gown and went directly to have your chocolate milk and cereal. That could perfectly be one of your favourite meals.

You averted your eyes when you saw a small box next to the plate. You didn't have to be a genius to know what it contained as there was a grey bitten apple perfectly place in the middle of the white box.

It was too good to be true. So you reached your hand out to touch the surface of the object. AND IT WAS STILL THERE. You quickly opened it, peeling a white case protecting the device and found a yellow sticky note on top of the smartphone's screen.

I hope you're not mad at me.

I found out yours broke.

I'd love to chat with you again.

You could hear your heart beating in your ears and how your flood was quickly pumping through your veins. You couldn't believe your eyes. Kylo Ren bought you an iPhone. You've never had an iPhone before, you'd always go for the cheapest option.

You made sure to keep the sticky note inside the box. It wasn't the phone you were excited about, but the words he wrote for you. He wanted to chat with you again. He was concerned you might have been upset with him.

His company that day made it the best one so far you've ever had in a hospital room.

You reached for the sticky note once more and looked closely at his handwriting. It was so neat but the strokes of ink were sharp and decisive. You looked at it closely to your face and you could've sworn there was a hint of his smell still lingering on the yellow piece of paper.

You grabbed your new iPhone and headed to the sofa, ready to set it up. Once you unlocked it, you found you already had one phone number saved.

It was his.
