Chapter 14. 2 months later

2 MONTHS LATER

Life had changed a lot in the last few months. You moved out of your brother's apartment and started living on your own. Your flat was small, but you could make do and were pleased with your current situation.

You had sent your CV for different positions and you were amazed when they asked you to come for an interview. Two days later they called to let you know you got the job.

You had been working there for a month already. You were writing a new mini-series for the platform with the one and only Luke Skywalker. Saying you were starstruck was an understatement. Not only you had gotten to meet him, but you also met Leia Organa and Han Solo. They were a lovely couple and made you feel welcome right away.

"Hi dear, how are you feeling?" Leia ask as she took a seat next to mine in the staff room.

"I'm doing well. I just need to finish a few details for the last episode" you smile to yourself proud of your work.

"Oh that's great. Are you planning anything for the holidays?" She asked as she unpacked her lunch.

"Not much really, I guess I'll meet my brother. What about you?" It was really weird for you how the CEO of the Resistance was so warm with her staff.

"Oh, you said your brother works for the First Order, right? My son works there too" you could see the sadness in her eyes.

"He does. Oh, who's your son? I might have met him" you asked curiously. You couldn't remember a Ben from the First Order.

"My Ben...he's a special boy, but he grew apart from us" she said, she was opening up to you and you wouldn't dare to ask any more questions.

You were unaware that Kylo actually contacted his mother after six years because of you. He didn't want to say what happened but his mom could tell he was affected. She knew it had to be important because she had never seen his son beg. And he did so she'd take you in her company.

"He did mention you. So I guess you left a mark there" She saw the furrow in your brows and she clarified "He goes by Kylo now. Ben used to be the sweetest boy, caring and good"

Your mind went to all the sweet nothings he'd whisper in your ear. Those early morning cuddling in bed, watching TV shows you both adored and talked passionately about them for hours.

A tear rolled down your cheek. You missed him dearly.

"He still is" you said. Torn apart by his two personalities, you finally understood a bit more why he was like that. So hot and cold, you had brought his old self back, but he wasn't comfortable with the fact of being vulnerable. Not when he had been an unbreakable wall for so many years.

You went back to work after crying in a bathroom stall. Classy and professional. Your eyes were red and puffy and you had an unsexy stuffy nose. As usual, you check your email to see which ones you had flagged and were surprised when you saw an unread email from your doctor.

The rollercoaster of emotions still didn't come to a stop.

Subject: Defective contraception pills

Dear patient,

We have recently received notice that the contraception pills you were prescribed have been proven defective and many patients have reported unplanned pregnancies. Please, come to the clinic as soon as possible to run all the convenient tests and talk about options and get in contact with the legal team as some of the affected people have shown interest in a collective lawsuit.
