Leo stepped into Daniel's flat as soon as he opened the door.

"I'm here and to no help at all!"

He was carrying the end of a huge packet of floor boards. Amiri was shouldering the weight in the other end.

"Yes, you are." Daniel stepped aside to let them in. "You gave me twenty percent off. That's not bad."

They put the packet down.

"Well, I'm not flooring", Leo said and handed Daniel the receipt. "I'm surprised you got the Rainy Oak. I thought your mind was set on Mountain Grey Oak."

Daniel went over to the fridge and took out a couple of beers.

"I changed my mind when I was exchanging the bathroom cabinet doors." He nodded toward a dresser, where a plastic covered board was resting on top of its worn-down exterior. "Beer?"

Amiri accepted a bottle but Leo politely declined the offer.

"Ally's picking me up." He turned to Daniel. "I heard she had a row at you the other night."

If he wasn't mistaken, Daniel became a little stiff, pausing mid-movement.

"What did she say? That I was joking and she took it a bit too seriously?"

Leo frowned.

"She didn't say anything really."

The doorbell chimed and Daniel left the room to let however it was, in. He came back with Benjamin.

"What's happening?" Benjamin asked with a glance at his friends. "Not much I see." He was offered a beer. "I thought you were going to be halfway done by now, Leo. This stuff is from your store, after all."

"I work in the warehouse", Leo answered.

Benjamin smiled.

"Then call your girl. Doesn't she jump between departments?"

As he spoke his gaze wandered from Leo to Daniel, who smacked his hands together.

"Let's do this", he exclaimed.

While the others were working, Leo was casually leaning against the dresser, weighting his phone in his hand. Ally was on her way and for some reason she sucking his dick while he was driving, seemed more fun than hanging out with his friends.

He let his thumb slide over the soft plastic covering the cabinet doors. A little bit of paper was stuck beneath one of them and impatient as he was waiting for Ally, he pulled it out. It was a receipt from the day Daniel had purchased the doors.

Ally turned off the car. She had parked outside of an apartment building, in which she assumed Daniel was living. She pulled out her phone and called Leo.

"Hello?" His voice was hoarse.

"I'm here", she said. "Please hurry. I don't want to hit traffic."

She peeked out the window at the huge building that was towering over her. She hoped that he would be quick. She didn't want to stay one more second than she had to.

Ally hadn't had to worry. Leo was soon out the doors and walked briskly to the car. As he got into the passenger seat, his eyes were wild and his lips pressed together.

"What's wrong?"

She reached out to touch him but he flinched. Wounded, she pulled her hand back.

"Did you know Daniel was at the store on the twelfth?"
