The jumpsuit was black, long legged and long sleeved, with a cape flowing gracefully from her waist down the back of her legs, ending just above the floor. It had an open back, with a carefully tied bow holding together the top part of the attire. The whole outfit, from the see-through black cape, to the high heels barely keeping the fabric from touching the floor, was sparkling.

Ally twirled in front of the mirror, the cape moving around her like the skirt of a dress. She looked like the night sky. Her hair which was braided into two braids - both starting from her forehead and moving their way toward her neck - turned into a messy bun at the back of her head. A few strands of her locks where left hanging, framing her face. Pearls were vowed into the bun, making even her hair sparkle.

When Adryan knocked on the door, she carefully crossed the room, not really used to wearing heels, and removed the chain. The view of him hit her as the door opened. He was dressed in an elegant black tuxedo. She took all of him in, from his carefully tousled hair, to his sparkling cuff links. He saw her eyeing his sleeves.

"I thought we'd match", he said and flashed her a smile.

Her heart skipped a beat. He looked dashing. He didn't seem to be disappointed in her looks either. His eyes slid over her body, her hair, her shoes - before finally stopping at her face.

"You look beautiful", he whispered with such feeling that she didn't doubt for even a second that he meant it.

She blushed. "Thank you. You look..." She searched for the right word. "exquisite."

His cheeks turned slightly pink. "Thank you." He raised a box, which she had been too taken by his beauty to notice. "Here."

He handed her the box and watched as the opened it revealing a stunning diadem. With its sparkly exterior and swirling pattern, almost looking like the vines of an angel plant, it resembled a crown.

She gave him a wide-eyed look before returning to her place before the mirror and slowly resting the diadem on her head. Adryan appeared behind her.

"You look like the night sky", he whispered in her ear. He raised his gaze and meet her eyes in the mirror. "Shall we go?"

She nodded but he didn't move. Instead, his smooth face caught a stroke of worry.

"Are you sure you're up for this?"

She took a deep breath. Was she? She wasn't sure, but she had no way of finding out except going. "We'll see."

She picked up a clutch bag with a strap – even that accessory sparkling black – from the floor and turned her back to the mirror. He raised his hand as if to place a strand of hair behind her ear, but froze mid-movement. Her heart broke from the insecurity on his face. She appreciated him restraining himself with everything he got, but she didn't want him to feel like he couldn't touch her at all.

"I'll tell you if it's not okay", she said quietly and nodded toward his hand.

He finished the movement, lingering a bit near her face, the back of his fingers carefully stroking her cheek. He let out a breath she hadn't even realised he had been holding, and straightened.

"One word" He offered her his hand. "or a squeeze of my hand" He squeezed her fingers. "and we'll leave – I promise."

She inhaled deeply before slowly exhaling, his eyes on her the whole time, and then nodded to say that she was ready. He escorted her across the room, glanced quickly at the chain - but held his tongue - before waiting for her as she locked the door, not letting go of her hand for even a second.

Maybe I can do this, she thought as they stalked down the hall. Maybe I'll even have fun.

She hoped that she would, for both their sakes. They both needed to relax and she had a feeling that Adryan wouldn't be able to do so, unless he thought that she was happy.
