Ally ripped up Benjamin's door and marched into his flat without so much as a tap on the wood. She felt like he deserved the invasion of his privacy, as he had invaded hers for far too many times.
"Hello", he called.
His voice floated to her to her from a door at the far end of the living room. She staggered there and found a bedroom. Benjamin was spread out on the bed, a wide grin on his face, and an open book with it pages turned down, beside him.
"You read?" she asked.
It wasn't what she had been planning to say, but the condescending tone was meant to throw him off. Not that it did.
"Yes", he answered, his eyes gliding over her body. "I can read. Surprising, isn't it?"
She crossed her arms over her chest, far too aware of that her nipples were poking at the thin fabric of her white body. It had been chilly outside and her boobs didn't mind telling the tale.
"You got me in trouble." He said it simply, like it hadn't had the slightest effect on his life.
She raised her brows. "He told you?"
Benjamin nodded. "How did you find my address?"
The swift change of the subject told her that he was uncomfortable, but she didn't know by what. Her knowing his address or Leo's knowledge?
"I have my ways", she said, repeating his own words.
His smile faulted a little bit. "Don't play games with me, Ally. You know far too well what I do with people who have an attitude."
She clenched her buttocks for a second. Oh, she knew, and she remembered the feeling far too well.
"What did Leo say?"
He sat up, picked up the book, eyed the page, and closed it.
"Three-hundred and forty-eight. Remember that." He put the book down. "Let's try this again. How did you get my address?" A dangerous spark lit up his eyes. "Adryan, gave it you, didn't he?"
She gave him a teasing smile. "Yes, he did. How did you get mine?"
"I tried googling your name and the part of town you live in. Didn't work. Then I tried googling your work place and your name. Didn't work. Good for you by the way, it isn't smart putting that kind of information on social medias. What you do have though, is a driver's license, where social security number is printed. I saw it when you had forgotten it on Leo's kitchen counter that one time."
She pursed her lips. "Why try to google me in the first place then, if you already had all the information? Why did you even remember it in the first place?"
"In this line of work, you don't forget details, but I didn't want to use my channels to find your address. Your social security number is private, there's no official details about in online."
"So you found one who could get the details for you."
He nodded. She processed the information for a while. He had people who could find out any little thing about her. The knowledge made her uncomfortable. She was a private person and here was someone who could access... what could he even access? Medical files? Dental records? Search history? She shook her head. She needed to get away from those thoughts. There was nothing she could do about it anyway.
"What if Adryan found out?"
He shrugged. "I have my own people, who doesn't particularly like him. I only use them to know what they're up to and in case it could hurt Adryan's business in some kind of way."
