Madness

Madness comes to those who felt misunderstood,

While explaining their own version of reality.

To those who were told that rabbit holes don't

lead to fantasy worlds like Wonderland,

To those that were told there is nothing like

Narnia hiding just beyond their wardrobe.

To those who learned the hard way, that the

only thing separating platforms nine and ten at the train station,

is a brick wall, not a secret portal.

Madness comes to those who found out too soon that

the tooth fairy only collects your lost teeth for her own benefit.

And that its impossible for a bunny to deliver chocolate

eggs on Easter. And to those who realised the cold biting

weather had nothing to do with Mr Jack Frost that's

just how the winter works.

Madness is a plague, one that cannot be cured by a vaccine.

It feasts upon the minds of children who were forced.

Forced to behave. Forced to stop believing. Forced to grow up.

Madness hunts down and infects the children whose minds grew before

their bodies. like the boy who feared mom and dad rather than the

monster under his bed. And like the innocent girl, who lost her purity to a man

before she had lost her first tooth. Madness preys on the children that

never got to be a child.

So whilst it may be true, that rabbit holes don't lead to wonderland,

It is unfortunately true that in a world so infested with madness

that I, am The Mad Hatter.
