Chapter 24

Nat forced me out of bed at 7:30. She was already dressed and in her suit and had the same braid in her hair from last night, "your hair looks pretty," I said as I moved back to the bed.
"I know," Nat said, "you did it now, get dressed."

"That suit looks so sexy on you," I said.

"Thank you, but stop trying to butter me up, get dressed."

"Fine!" I stormed to the bathroom. I put my suit on and put my hair into a high pony. When I walked out Nat pushed me against the wall and kissed me, "Natalia Romonavra," I said then pulled away from her, "As much as I would love to do this right now it's 7:45 and I need my breakfast."

"You are such a Stark," she playfully pushed off of me. We went downstairs. Steve had made pancakes for everyone. I went over and got a plate for me and one for Nat. We sat down and ate while Tony and Scott were eating with us. After we finished we went to the conference room. Cap ran through the plan one more time. I was nervous actually terrified, not of the time travel but of something happening to someone while getting the stone. Especially the people going to space like Nat, Clint, and Rhodes. I mean Nebula, Rocket, and Thor would be fine because they knew space, but the others didn't. I started playing with my hair. Nat put her hand on top of mine. "Hey," she said trying to distract me. Everyone walked out of the room except for Nat and me.

"Hey," I responded to Nat. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes I turned to Nat and gave her a hug she pulled me into a kiss I melted in her kiss and kept going back for more, I didn't want to break away from her because that meant that we would have to go, I would have to leave her, and we would be so far apart. Natasha broke away from me and pulled me into a hug.

"Aj, you'll be fine, we'll all be fine," She said. I squeezed her tighter.

"Good luck my love," I said.

"You too dorogaya." She pulled me into one more kiss. Natasha and I lined up with the rest of the Avengers. Then we walked to the Quantum Time Machine all of us, as a team, it was great, I felt so powerful. We walked onto the machine I stood across from Nat and next to Tony.

"Five years ago, we lost," Steve started, "All of us. We lost friends, we lost family, we lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones," We all put our hands in the middle, "get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win. Whatever it takes. Good luck." Tony turned to me,

"You ready kid?" he asked as he smiled at me."

"I hope so," I whispered back.

"He's pretty good at that," Rocket said about Steve's epic pep talk.

"Right?" Scott excitedly said.

"All right. You heard the man. Stroke those keys, jolly green," Tony said.

"Tractors engaged," Bruce said from the controls.

"You promise to bring that back in one piece, right?" Rocket said to Clint who was taking his ship on his, Natasha, Nebula, and Rhodey's missions.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I'll do my best," Clint said.

"As promises go, that was pretty lame," Rocket said. Bruce joined us on the machine and stood next to me.

"See you in a minute," Nat smiled as she looked at me,

"I love you soulless," I mouthed at her.

"Love you too Alexandrea," she mouthed, I rolled my eyes at her. The parts of the machine above us spun and opened up. I tapped a button to put my helmet on and took a deep breath. We shrunk and I was taken away.
