3 days later

I went up to the time machine with Bruce and Steve. Bruce opened the briefcase with the stones "Now, remember," Bruce started, "You have to return the stones to the exact moment you got them. Or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities."

"Don't worry, Bruce," Cap took out the soul stone before closing the case, "Clip all the branches," He handed the stone to me.

"You know, if you want, I can come with you," Sam said.

"You're a good man, Sam," Cap started, "This one's on me, though, and Aj" Steve walked over to Bucky. I went to Sam and gave him a hug.

"If this doesn't work I don't know what I'll do," I said.

"I hope Thor's right," He said. Steve and I stepped on the time machine. We put out time travel suits on.

"You two ready? Alright. We'll meet you back here, okay?"

"You bet," Steve said.

"Going quantum. Three, two, one–" I gave Steve a fist bump before we shrunk. I was back in the quantum realm. Then I was in Vomir, 2014. I found the man with the red skull, I gave him the stone.

"A soul for a soul," I said.

"Thank you for returning the stone." He said.

"Yeah, now I'm going to need my soul back," I said.

"What?" he asked.

"I'm giving you a soul, now I want Natasha Romanoff or Natalia Romanova back."

"That's not how it works," he said.

"What do you mean, you said a soul for a soul," I said.

"No, Natalia Romanova gave her life for the stone, she cannot in any way be brought back."

"What?" A tear fell down my cheek.

"That's the rule," he said.

"Are you sure that there's nothing I can do I need her back."

"I'm sorry but we can't get her back."

"Please," I cried, "I'll do anything."

"I'm sorry but I can't get her back." I was blasted back to the machine. Bruce looked at me I shook my head. Steve wasn't next to me.

"Where is he?" Sam asked.

"I don't know. He blew right by his time stamp. He should be here," Bruce fiddled with the controls.

"Well, get him back," Sam said.

"I'm trying," Bruce said.

"Get him the hell back!" Sam said.

"Hey, I said, I'm trying!" Bruce said.

"Sam," Bucky called. I peered over and saw an old man sitting on a bench. Steve. I walked over to Bruce

"You know, I tried. When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back." Bruce said.

"I know, you did," I said, "we can't get her back, the red guy said if someone sacrifices themselves for the stone it can't be undone so she's gone, for real."
