Annie's Inner Dialogue
I shouldn't have left Brody, but the past is the past.
We've both moved on, but maybe I moved too fast
And lost my grip on reality
And the reason I was drawn here to BG.
I stayed because I could be me,
Not who the whole world expected me to be.
Not the redhead girl who sold herself in saloons.
Not just the girl wishing for the moon.
But a girl who could reach out and grab it.
Bart and his family have welcomed me in,
and treated me just like one of their kin.
But I'm not a Denver. And that's what I forgot.
It made me something that I'm not.
I let myself be put under the spell
of The Liberty Belle.
For too long I've felt unmoored and now I know why.
My name is Annie, and I'm a reporter for BG.
If I'm not there, I'm nobody.
And now that I know what's in my heart, I have to go talk to Bart.
Will he understand that even though I love him,
he's not the only one I love?
I love the people of BG,
The people who've been so good to me.
I belong there, with them.
And, if Bart understands, with him.
