The stage from Rickety pulled into town
And a well-dressed stranger stepped down
He nodded his head as he glanced around
While Whip Cracker, set his bag on the ground
'Hotel's up the street. Saloon's cross the road.
That's where I'm headed soon as I unload.'
'A drink sounds good,' said the man, thirstily,
and then I need to find this town's library.'

'That'd be Miss Folio's place. It's right over there,'
Whip said, with a curious face.****
'Didn't ask fer the hotel. Asked fer the libree instead.'
Whip announced to the sheriff, scratching his head.
'Came from some place up north. Tuckerville, he said.'

Tuckerville was where Harriet hailed from
He recalled the heads up from Sheriff Becker
In a wire he'd sent before she'd come
He knew about her past, and what she'd done
3Gun thanked his old friend for showing concern
Smiling about the drink money he hoped he would earn
He went to the saloon and peeked through the door
Didn't see anything that would cause an uproar
Still, a visit to Harriet to give her the news
How she handled it was hers to choose
He let her know he was there if needed
She thanked him and said, his words would be heeded
