Chapter 11 - Captive

*Dani*

I don't know how many hours had passed or where I was, but all I knew was that I was strapped down to a table and my head throbbed with a horrible ache. The bright fluorescent light above me was no help at all and I had to keep my eyes closed to be able to get some relief from the ache.

"Look who's awake." A man said softly. His voice was sadistic and so familiar that it sent a shiver down my spine.

I turned my head, my eyes snapping open, but instantly sucked in a sharp breath as pain was sent through my body causing me to close my eyes again.

"I wouldn't move. Master Shredder did a large number on you, but you're healing at an astonishing rate! Just like when you were a child." The man said.

My body went rigid with shock. I knew who this was. My eyes may have been closed but the voice registered: Sacks.

"So you do remember me... Why so silent? Are you frightened?" He teased.

"Frightened?" I asked quietly. I would have laughed but the movement would have hurt. "I got over my fear of you a long time ago." I slowly opened my eyes so I could stare him in the eyes. Pain rippled through my temples as I opened my eyes to fluorescent lights.

Sacks stared down at me with a sadistic smile, his eyes wild. "You have truly matured into something magnificent! Your ability is even faster than it was when you were a child. Now just imagine how different it would be if I continued the experiments!"

Fear flooded my body and I wanted to shake my head but I couldn't because it would have hurt too much. "You're not using me for your experiments again you psychopath." I said to him, hatred burning in my eyes.

Sacks chuckled as he moved closer to the table I was strapped down to. I struggled against the restraints, trying my hardest to ignore the piercing pain radiating through my body, but I only whimpered and cringed away.

"Leave her alone!" An angered voice yelled. I slowly turned my head towards the direction of the voice and whimpered in pain as I did so.

"Leo?" I asked under my breath. Across the room were four clear cages, three of them holding Donnie, Mikey, and Leo. Where was Raph?

Sacks sighed and walked away from my table and towards the brothers. He clicked his tongue in disappointment. "Now, now. Let's look at this again. You three are in the cages, and I'm not, so that means you can't tell me what to do." He chuckles and crosses his arms. "Wow. Look at you all, such magnificence. And to think we were going to use rabbits!"

"Leave them alone Sacks!" I screamed. I groaned in agony in response to the pain the yelling brought me. "Let them go. They have nothing you want." I said more quietly.

Sacks laughed and turned back towards me. "Oh they have exactly what I need." He approached my table again and placed two fingers under my chin. "Just as you do." He pulled his hand away. "It's really quite simple you see. You four - five if the other turtle wasn't dead - all hold the key to how the mutagen is supposed to work."

My heart seemed to stop in my chest and then Sacks's voice disappeared and sounded miles away. The three brothers all struggled against their restraints, anger flaming in their eyes. Raphael was...dead. It couldn't be true, it couldn't... Raph would not die without saving his brothers first...

"No..." I said quietly, interrupting Sacks mid-sentence. "Raph isn't dead.. He can't be..."

"Sorry sweetheart, he is." Sacks said simply. "Bring over the toxin." He commanded to a few soldiers.
