Chapter 2 - An Old Friend

*Leonardo*

Leonardo paced the dojo, his eyes watching his feet every time he took a step. Across the wall was where he and his brothers kept there weapons. He eyed those again, all the weapons were there except Raph's. Mikey, Donnie and him had gone out to look for him and had caught sight of him helping a girl - who wasn't the least bit grateful, but something about her reminded him of someone who left a long time ago. After that they had continued to search for Raph, but they had no luck in finding him, so they turned back and headed to their home. Leonardo told Mikey and Donnie to head to bed, he would stay awake to deal with Raph. There was a soft thud and Leonardo turned to face Raphael.

"Where have you been?" Leonardo asked, his voice carrying the tone of an annoying father who was greeting a son who had been out all night.

"Why do you care? I was out, big deal." Raph turned from Leonardo and put his Sai's back on their hooks.

"I care because I'm your brother Raph. We went out looking for you! You revealed yourself to that girl and that guy! You know how dangerous and stupid that was?" Leo yelled at him.

Raph went rigid at the mention of the girl. "I don't care. She needed help so I helped her." He said simply, his voice going quiet out of anger.

"Well she sure didn't act like she needed it afterwards. Raph, when are you gonna learn that we need to stick together. We're brothers, we rely on each other. And Sensei said-"

"I don't care what Sensei said!" He yelled as he turned to face Leo. "I can't just sit here underground and watch as Shredder and the Foot Clan terrorize New York!"

Leo felt a pang of guilt in his stomach for snapping at Raph. He knew his brother just wanted to help those in need. Leo let out a sigh, and his shoulders sagged slightly.

"Look, Raphael, I get where you're coming from. I just-" he stopped himself, knowing he shouldn't be selfish with his own concerns. "We all are just worried about you. We want you to be safe and even dad said we need to stick together." His voice had softened and Leo looked upon Raph with kindness and brotherly love. "Please Raph, if you go out there, just be careful." Leo nodded solemnly to his brother and turned away, leaving the dojo and heading back to his bed.

*Dani*

My eyes opened slowly as a ray of sunlight peeked through the curtains of my window. I groaned softly and rolled onto my stomach letting out a big yawn. I stretched across my bed, spreading my arms and legs out like a starfish. Slowly I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I swung my legs over the edge and let my bare feet touch the wood floor. I stood from the bed and walked to the windows, my hands grabbing the curtains. My arms flew wide and sunlight poured into my bedroom. A small gasp escaped my lips as I stared wide eyed at a pink sheet of paper that was taped to the window. When had that gotten there? I quickly unfolded it and read the script on it over and over again.

Meet me in the alley by Orchard and 5th. Come alone. -Sensei

My heart hammered in my chest. I had not seen this handwriting in years. Sensei... My eyes stayed glued to that word, that simple word. But it was anything but simple. Hiding between those letters, are my memories that I locked away a long time ago. Some still break to the surface and I have to force them away. Tears pool at the edge of my eyes and I blink quickly to force them away. My emotions cannot cloud my mind. I folded the paper back up, the location like a picture in my mind, and I quickly got ready to meet my Sensei I had not seen since I was a child.
