Chapter 15 - The Chip

Raphael stared down at Dani's unconscious body with wide eyes. The past few minutes repeated over and over in his head. What had happened to her? Slowly he stood up, releasing Dani's wrists and watching as her arms fell limp.

"I did not wish to do that." Splinter said quietly.

"What else were you supposed to do Sensei? She could have hurt any of us..." Leo said as he tried to keep his voice from shaking.

Everyone went silent for a few moments before Donnie spoke up.

"Can we take her to my lab?" He asked quietly. "We'll be able to restrain her better and I can try to figure out what happened..."

Leo and Raph nodded simultaneously and quickly went to pick up Dani. They both stopped before they reached her, neither knowing what to do.

Raph pursed his lips and looked away. "You take her Leo. I'll meet you all in the lab."

Leo lifted Dani into his arms and carried her limp body to Donnie's lab. Dani looked so small, so fragile, like a child. Raph looked away and crossed his arms, not wanting to show any weakness to his brothers. He needed to look like he was strong, especially for Mikey.

"Raphael." Splinter said as he placed a hand on Raph's shoulder. "Do not be scared, Dani will be alright."

Raph scoffed and shook his head. "I'm not scared! Why would I be scared?" His fists clenched tightly. "Donnie can fix this. He can figure out what's going on."

"I truly believe that as well, my son, but Donatello may be extremely challenged with this. We do not know what we are dealing with." Splinter said calmly.

Raph looked up to him and sighed heavily. "I'm going to go see how it's going." Splinter nodded slowly and Raph walked to the lab.

As he walked into the lab his eyes were instantly drawn to a table where Dani lay unconscious. They had strapped her wrists and ankles to the table to make sure she wouldn't hurt anyone when she woke up.

"Leo, get the x-ray device. I need to scan her head for any anomalies." Donnie suddenly spoke up as he spun in his chair towards Leo.

"Can I do anything to help?" Mikey asked shakily.

"Not now, Mikey." Donnie said softly with a slight smile. "For now why don't you just go sit down and rest."

Raph could see relief in Mikey's expression. It was obvious he was only asking to sound helpful. Mikey hurried over to an arm chair tucked away in the corner and sat down. Raph instantly began walking over, dragging his eyes away from Dani.

"Hey little bro." Raph said softly as he sat next to Mikey.

"Raph," Mikey said quietly. "I'm scared. What if we can't fix Dani... What if she's stuck like this forever?"

Raph tensed, but made sure his expression remained calm. "Donnie will help her. He always finds a way. You know him, he's a nerd." Raph said with a smirk, trying to cheer Mikey up.

Mikey smiled slightly, but just looked down sadly again. "I just don't want to lose her again. It seems like right when she came back, she's gone again."

Raph looked at his brother, frowning slightly. "Mikey, don't ever think that Dani is going to abandon us again. She did once, but that was my fault. She didn't want to leave, but because of me and my hot head, she did." Raph paused a moment, taking a deep breath so he wouldn't explode with emotion. "Dani wouldn't leave. Not again. So whatever is going on with her, it's not of her own free will."
