Hours later, with Parents' Weekend and classes behind them, Hope and Josie could focus on finding people to interrogate in the halls.

"MG!" Josie shouted when she spotted him across the hall.

"Hey, what's good, Josie?" he asked.

"Let's cut to the chase," Hope interrupted. "Do you know who started this rumor?"

"What rumor?"

"Don't play dumb," Hope shoved him against the wall.

"Take it easy, Hope," Josie held her back. "MG is a good friend of mine and Lizzie's. If he says he doesn't know, then he doesn't know."

Hope nodded her head and let him go.

He mouthed a quick 'thank you' to Josie before scurrying away.

The next person they passed was Jed.

"Excuse me, Jed," Josie addressed him politely.

"Hey, Josie," he seemed unenthused with the conversation already.

"You know that rumor that's going around about me and Hope?"

He glanced between the two of them and their interlaced hands before responding.

"That you two are fucking? Yeah, who hasn't?" he replied, earning him a deadly glare from Hope.

"Well, I was just hoping that since you're the alpha of the school's pack, that maybe you know who started it?"

"Yeah, not gonna happen," he brushed Josie off. "If I tell you, she'll kill me."

"You just said 'she'," Hope's glare immediately intensified.

"Yeah, so what?" Jed gulped, knowing he just fucked up.

Hope grabbed his neck with one hand and lifted him off the ground.

"So, you better tell us who 'she' is or I'll be the one to kill you," she flashed her golden eyes at him.

"Alright, alright," he let out strained. "It was Penelope Park."

Hope dropped him, leaving him gasping for air on the ground.

"Thanks for your help," Hope smirked before taking Josie's hand in hers and walking away.

Hope had one thing on her mind, find Penelope and destroy her.

Josie could tell by the way Hope was squeezing her hand just a little too hard as they looked for the girl.

"Sorry, Love," Hope immediately apologized. "I'm just...really in the zone."

"Hey, listen," Josie stopped them for a second. "I know your goal is to crush Penelope in the name of our relationship, but I don't want you to."

"But she-"

"Is my ex," Josie cut her off. "And something I need to deal with."

Hope knew she couldn't fight Josie on this and win, so when they found the girl they were looking for, Hope took a couple steps back and let them have their space.

"What the hell, Penelope?" Josie confronted her.

"What's wrong, Jo Jo?" she feigned innocence.

"I know you started that stupid rumor, which isn't even true!"

"It's not? I walked past Hope's room the other day, the door was slightly ajar, Hope was shirtless, you two were in bed together, and Lizzie had just caught you in the act," Penelope recalled.

"Well, you and Lizzie were mistaken because Hope and I weren't doing anything," Josie informed her. "And guess what, Hope and I are together now so I guess whatever pathetic plan you had to cause tension between me and Hope failed."

Hope smirked. With her slightly enhanced werewolf hearing, she could hear every word they were saying, something Josie was unaware of.

"You're right, you caught me," Penelope put her hands up in surrender. "I was just mistaken in what I saw. You and Hope didn't slept together and she didn't taken your v-card."

"Uh huh, mistaken," Josie mocked. "You knew that wasn't true. Even if you did think you saw me and Hope, you know I lost my virginity to you."

Penelope saw Hope's smirk drop and suddenly the auburn-haired girl was gone. Josie realized she just walked right into Penelope's trap.
