Hope had spent the last few days ignoring Josie.

She had spoken to her father.

"Josie's a fine girl," he had said, which Hope then assured him she knew.

He then proceeded to explain his love for Hope's mom.

"I loved, and love, your mother, Hope. But she and I are no longer in love, at least if she ever was on her part. At the time, she had your Uncle Elijah for that. To love and to be in love are two very different things."

She had nodded her head and hung up the phone with a sigh, unable to determine if she was her father or her uncle in this situation, whether or not she would get the girl.

She spoke to her Aunt Rebekah and Aunt Freya who suggested she just talk it out with Josie, but she basically ignored them in favor of living in isolation.

Besides Josie and their shared group of Lizzie and Raf, Hope didn't really have many friends on campus. Just mere acquaintances.

She ate her meals by herself, she hung out in her dorm by herself, she sat in her classes quietly away from Josie who seemed indifferent to the whole thing, save a few glances.

Hope came to wonder if she had overreacted and Josie was just waiting for her to apologize.

On her 6th day of living in her own company, Hope decided to approach Josie. She swallowed her pride, which was immense since she was a Mikaelson.

"I'm sorry," Hope let out. "I was just insecure and I overreacted. It shouldn't matter who you've been with because right now you're with me."

"No, you didn't overreact, I just didn't give you a straight answer. You see, Lizzie made me realize that I care about everyone, my mom, my dad, Lizzie, Stefan, Raf, MG, Ethan, Maya, Finch, it's just in my nature."

Hope nodded her head, urging her to continue.

"And Penelope, she's someone I really care about, but not in the same way I care about you and it's just so hard to explain and..." Josie rambled on and on before finally getting to the point. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, I love everyone, I love people. But I'm in love with you, Hope."

Hope got goosebumps, from hearing her father's words echo from Josie's mouth. She was frozen in shock.

"Hope?" Josie questioned. worried she went too far by saying the "L" word. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," Hope snapped out of it. "I'm okay as long as I have your heart and you have mine."
