It was a Friday night, classes had ended, and Hope and Josie were getting ready to go on their first date.

"Will you please tell me where we're going?" Hope asked as they got ready over FaceTime.

"No, my lips are sealed," Josie declined as she did her hair. "It's a surprise. Just wear something nice."

"You mean my joggers and t-shirt aren't nice enough?" Hope joked.

"Hope!" Josie squealed. "You were supposed to be getting ready this whole time! We need to leave soon!"

"Alright, alright," Hope shifted positions and Josie could now tell that the girl had been lying in her bed. "I'll be ready in 10, don't worry."

Josie did some finishing touches on her hair before she declared herself ready.

"I'm heading over to your room now. You better be dressed by the time I get there," Josie warned.

"That's supposed to be incentive to put my outfit on?" Hope asked playfully. "Seems more a like deterrent."

Hope realized that it was a little risky to make a sexual joke like that considering what everyone's been about them lately, but she decided it was worth the the blush that came across Josie's face and the momentary speechlessness that followed.

Josie herself could tell she was blushing by the feeling of heat rushing to her cheeks.

"Just, be ready to go when I get there," Josie finally spoke flustered before hanging up.

"Remember, if Hope tries anything tell me and I'll fuck her up," Lizzie said as she did one last check of Josie's hair and makeup.

Josie rolled her eyes and said goodbye to her twin. When she arrived at Hope's door, the auburn-haired girl was smitten and her jaw immediately fell open.

"How do I look?" Josie did a small twirl.

"Like a billion bucks," Hope was quite obviously checking her out.

Hope knew that wasn't how the saying went, but the Mikaelsons with all their wealth had decided centuries ago that a million didn't properly express the high value of something, so they adapted it for their own use and Josie didn't question Hope's use of it.

"You lead the way," Hope held her hand out expectantly.

Josie took it and led her out the front doors of the school where a car was waiting for them.

15 minutes later, they pulled up to a really nice restaurant that Hope had been to a few times before and always raved about.

The woman at the podium asked for the name for their reservation.

"Josette Mikaelson."

Hope let out an audible breath at the name.

"What?" Josie shrugged. "This place was booked out for 3 months, I needed an in."

Hope knew it was only the first date, but something about Josie with her last name felt so right.

"Nothing," Hope shakes her head softly. "That was just...hot."

"Table for 2?" The hostess looks up from her book of reservations.

Josie nods at the hostess and smirks as she and Hope are led away to their table.

Hope ordered steak and potatoes while Josie had a salad with a nice pasta dish.

Hope and Josie talked for the whole hour of their dinner. When Josie called for the check, the server told them that it was covered.

"What does he mean it's covered?" Josie asked confused.

"Perks of being a Mikaelson," Hope shrugged.

"What? No, this was supposed to be my treat," Josie pouted.

"And now it's mine. You still get some credit for arranging all this," Hope assured her jokingly.

"Fine, if I can't buy you dinner, then why don't you come back to my room and watch a movie?" Josie offered. "Lizzie is going to be out with Raf so it'll just be us.".

Hope took her up on her offer and a short while later, they were lying in Josie's bed, under a blanket together. Josie was curled into Hope who was holding a bowl of popcorn.

They got through a movie and a half, and were making out on Josie's bed when they were interrupted by Josie's dad.

"Hey, girls," Alaric entered the room with an awkward cough. "Curfew, time for Hope to leave."

"Alright," Hope sighed and started to collect her things.

"And don't stay up too much later. We want you guys to bring the energy when parents come to visit tomorrow for Parents' Weekend," Alaric reminded them before leaving.

"My mom is coming with Stefan, I'm so excited," Josie squealed.

"Speaking of Parents' Weekend, there's something I wanted to talk to you about," Hope was hesitant. "My mom is coming."

"That's great, I love your mom, she's so nice," Josie was confused as to why Hope seemed so reluctant.

"And my dad is too," Hope finished. "And, when they come to visit, I'd like to introduce you to them as my girlfriend."

"Woah," Josie blinked a few times.

"I know we only just had our first date, but I had an amazing time. I've liked you for forever, and I guess what I'm trying to say is, will you be my girlfriend?"

Everything clicked into place in Josie's head. Her years of fantasizing of this moment came to an end.

"Yes!"
